Rolande Falcinelli
Rolande Roberte Ginabat-Falcinelli (18 February 1920 – 11 June 2006) was a French organist, pianist, composer, and music educator. Biography Rolande Falcinelli (born Ginabat), the grandniece of Marcel Falcinelli and granddaughter of Louis Napoléon Falcinelli (both painters), was born in Paris and entered the Conservatoire de Paris in 1932, where her teachers were noted pianist and pedagogue Isidor Philipp and Abel Estyle (piano), Marcel Samuel-Rousseau (harmony), Simone Plé-Caussade (counterpoint), Henri Büsser (composition), and Marcel Dupré ( organ and improvisation). Éditions Hortus
Éditions Hortus is an independent French disk label, offering largely unknown songs and works for the organ in addition to contemporary compositions. Specialised in organ and choir music, it has in particular presented disks recorded at the Notre Dame de Paris and of its choir ' Les Éléments', as well as of the young harpsichordist Benjamin Alard. Éditions Hortus wishes to produce disks containing rare or even previously unrecorded music. Vincent Genvrin is the label's artistic director. Didier Maes is its executive producer. Naji Subhy Paul Irénée Hakim (Arabic: ''ناجي صبØÙŠ Øكيم'' 'Naji Sobhi Hakim'' born 31 October 1955) is a Franco-Lebanese organist, composer, and improviser. He studied the organ under Jean Langlais at the Conservatoire de Paris, and succeeded Olivier Messiaen as titular organist at the Église de la Sainte-Trinité, Paris, holding this position from 1993 to 2008. Before this, he was titular organist at the Sacré-CÅ“ur basilica in the same city from 1985 to 1993, succeeding Daniel Roth. Maurice Clerc (born 1946) is a French classical organist. Life Born in Lyon, Clerc studied at the École normale de musique de Paris with Suzanne Chaisemartin, then at the Conservatoire de Paris where he obtained, in 1975, a first prize for organ in Rolande Falcinelli's class. While continuing this path in interpretation with Gaston Litaize, he frequented, for several years, the lessons of musical improvisation by Pierre Cochereau at the International Academy of Nice. Jean-Pierre Leguay (born 4 July 1939 in Dijon) is a French organist, composer and improviser. He studied with André Marchal, Gaston Litaize, Rolande Falcinelli (organ), Simone Plé-Caussade (counterpoint), and Olivier Messiaen (composition), before serving as titular organist at Notre-Dame-des-Champs, Paris from 1961 to 1984. In 1985 he was named a titular organist at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris, alongside Olivier Latry, Yves Devernay and Philippe Lefebvre. Pierre-Marie François Pincemaille (8 December 1956 – 12 January 2018) was a French organist, improviser, and pedagogue. He was known for his organ improvisations, both in concert and on CD and for his recordings of Charles-Marie Widor's complete organ symphonies played on organs built by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, as well as his recordings of the complete organ works of Maurice Duruflé and César Franck, and organ works of Pierre Cochereau and Louis Vierne in particular.
