Roland Németh
Roland Németh (born 19 September 1974 in Szombathely, Vas) is a Hungarian athlete specializing in the 100 metres. He won the bronze medal at the 2002 European Championships in Athletics. Participating in the 2004 Summer Olympics, he achieved third place in his 100 metres heat, thus making it through to the second round. He finished sixth in the second round, thus failing to achieve qualification to the semi-finals. Németh finished seventh with the Hungarian 4 x 100 metres relay team, which consisted of Viktor Kovács, Gábor Dobos, Németh and Zsolt Szeglet, at the 1999 World Championships. Szombathely
Szombathely (; german: Steinamanger, ; see also other alternative names) is the 10th largest city in Hungary. It is the administrative centre of Vas county in the west of the country, located near the border with Austria. Szombathely lies by the streams ''Perint'' and ''Gyöngyös'' (literally "pearly"), where the Alpokalja (Lower Alps) mountains meet the Little Hungarian Plain. 60 metres, or 60-meter dash, is a sprint event in track and field. It is a championship event for indoor championships, normally dominated by the best outdoor 100 metres runners. At outdoor venues it is a rare distance, at least for senior athletes. The format of the event is similar to other sprint distances. The sprinters follow three initial instructions: 'ready', instructing them to take up position in the starting blocks; 'set', instructing them to adopt a more efficient starting posture, which also isometrically preloads their muscles.
