Roland Hooks
Roland L. Hooks (born January 2, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York) is a former American football running back in the NFL who played for the Buffalo Bills. He played college football at North Carolina State University. Early years Hooks attended Farm Life High School in Vanceboro, NC. He accepted a football scholarship from North Carolina State University. As a sophomore in 1972, when Lou Holtz arrived as the new head coach at North Carolina State University, he implemented split-back veer offense to take advantage of the talent at running back, that included Hooks, Stan Fritts, Willie Burden and Charley Young. At the time, this was arguably the best group of running backs in the nation, they were known as "The Four Stallions" and everyone of them went on to play in a professional football league. Galena High School is a public secondary school in Southwest Reno, Nevada that is a part of the Washoe County School District. The school mascot is the Grizzly Bear, and the school's colors are black and gold. Their sports teams are known as the "Galena Grizzlies". Joe Ferguson
Joseph Carlton Ferguson Jr. (born April 23, 1950) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons, primarily with the Buffalo Bills. He played college football at Arkansas. Early years Ferguson played high school football in Shreveport, Louisiana for Woodlawn High School. He guided the Knights to the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class AAA (the top classification at the time) state championship in 1968. Ferguson succeeded Terry Bradshaw as Woodlawn's starting quarterback. The 1981 Buffalo Bills season was the franchise's 12th season in the National Football League, and the 22nd overall. The season's most memorable moment was probably a Hail Mary catch against the New England Patriots in Week Twelve. A Hail Mary pass is a very long forward pass in American football, typically made in desperation, with an exceptionally small chance of achieving a completion. Due to the difficulty of a completion with this pass, it makes reference to the Catholic "Hail Mary" prayer for strength and help. The expression goes back at least to the 1930s, when it was used publicly by Elmer Layden and Jim Crowley, two former members of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish's Four Horsemen. The 1979 Buffalo Bills season was the franchise's 10th season in the National Football League, and 20th overall. Head coach Chuck Knox spent his second season with the Bills in 1979, improving on 1978's record by two games.
