Rogers Lake (Minnesota)
Rogers Lake is a lake in Dakota County, in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Rogers Lake was named for E. G. Rogers, a pioneer farmer who settled there. Wagon Wheel Trail divides the two sections of the lake (the northern is sometimes referred to as "Mendakota Lake")https://goo.gl/maps/yz41mqjLF6n Google Maps which are connected by a culvert (a popular fishing spot). The south shore is occupied by Saint Thomas Academy and the Patterson Companies headquarters. Interstate 35E is routed along the western shore. A paved trail runs between 35E and the lake, from Mendota Heights Road to Rogers Lake Parm. The park is located on the northwest corner of the lower lake, and is a popular area for fishing and skateboarding in the summer. Mendakota Country Club surrounds the northern section. Dakota County, Minnesota
Dakota County is the third-most populous county in the U.S. state of Minnesota, located in the east central portion of the state. As of the 2020 census, the population was 439,882. The population of Dakota County was estimated to be 442,038 in 2021. The county seat is Hastings. Dakota County is named for the Dakota Sioux tribal bands who inhabited the area. The name is recorded as "Dahkotah" in the United States Census records until 1851. Saint Thomas Academy
Saint Thomas Academy (abbr. STA), originally known as St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary and formerly known as St. Thomas Military Academy, is the only all-male, Catholic, college-preparatory, military high school in Minnesota. It is located in Mendota Heights near Saint Paul. The Academy has a middle school (grades 6-8) and a high school (grades 9-12). The high school students are required to participate in military leadership classes, as the school was previously part of Army JROTC. Its sister school, Convent of the Visitation, is located across the street. Many classes and after-school activities involve both schools. Interstate 35E (I-35E) is an Interstate Highway in the US state of Minnesota, passing through downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota, Saint Paul. It is one of two through routes for Interstate 35 in Minnesota, I-35 through the Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, the other being Interstate 35W (Minnesota), I-35W through Minneapolis. Thus, both ends of I-35E are shared with I-35W and I-35. During the early years of the Interstate Highway System, branching Interstates with directional suffixes, such as N, S, E, and W, were common nationwide. This is a list of lakes of Minnesota. Although promoted as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes", Minnesota has 11,842 lakes of or more. The 1968 state survey found 15,291 lake basins, of which 3,257 were dry. If all basins over 2.5 acres were counted, Minnesota would have 21,871 lakes. The prevalence of lakes has generated many repeat names. For example, there are more than 200 Mud Lakes, 150 Long Lakes, and 120 Rice Lakes. All but four of Minnesota's 87 counties (Mower, Olmsted, Pipestone and Rock) contain at least one natural lake. Minnesota's lakes provide 44,926 miles of shoreline, more than the combined lake (~32,000 mi) and coastal (3,427 mi) shorelines of California.
