Roger Reitz
Roger P. Reitz (born November 11, 1932) is an American doctor and politician, who served as a Republican Party (United States), Republican member of the Kansas Senate, representing the Kansas's 22nd Senate district, 22nd district from 2005 until 2013. Reitz served as a representative in the Kansas House of Representatives from 2002 to 2005. He previously had served as mayor and city commissioner for the Manhattan City Commission and was president and member of Unified School District 383 School Board. Reitz graduated from Kansas State University and is graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1959 with an M.D. He served in the United States Army as a physician. He is a practicing, board-certified doctor of internal medicine. He is married to Virginia Reitz and lives in Manhattan, Kansas, Manhattan. He and his wife have five children. Kansas's 22nd Senate district is one of 40 districts in the Kansas Senate. It has been represented by Democrat Usha Reddi since 2023, succeeding fellow Democrat Tom Hawk. Geography District 22 is based in Manhattan, covering all of Clay and Riley Counties as well as a small part of northern Geary County. Other communities in the district include Clay Center, Ogden, Wakefield, Riley, and parts of western Junction City. The Kansas Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Kansas. It is a bicameral assembly, composed of the lower Kansas House of Representatives, with 125 state representatives, and the upper Kansas Senate, with 40 state senators. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, senators for four-year terms. Prior to statehood, separate pro-slavery and anti-slavery territorial legislatures emerged, drafting four separate constitutions, until one was finally ratified and Kansas became a state in 1861. Lana Oleen
Lana Scrimsher Oleen (born April 26, 1949) is an American politician and teacher. She served in the Kansas Senate as a Republican from the 22nd district from 1989 to 2005. Early life Oleen was born on April 26, 1949, in Kirksville, Missouri. She graduated from Topeka West High School and attended Emporia State University, where she received a bachelors of science in education in 1972 and a masters of science in 1977. She began teaching at Council Grove High School between 1972 and 1974, at Dover High School between 1975 and 1976 and at Leroy High School between 1976 and 1977. In 1978, she began teaching at St. George High School as an English, speech and drama teacher.
