Roger Quemener
Roger Quemener (17 June 1941 – 18 July 2021) was a French racewalker, who was a legend of the Ultramarathon race Paris-Colmar winning seven times. He thus had the record number of wins, until Polish racewalker Grzegorz Adam Urbanowski brought it to ten wins. Career Of Breton descent, Quemener joined the Parisian police in 1963, and later became a member of the ''AS Police Paris'' sporting association. He only started top-level sport at 28 years old. He contested mainly long-distance races, he was French champion in the 100 kilometers in 1971, 1972 and 1975. In 1979 Quemener won the classic Paris-Strasbourg. Noisy-le-Grand
Noisy-le-Grand () is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the centre of Paris. The commune of Noisy-le-Grand is part of the sector of Porte de Paris, one of the four sectors of the "new town" of Marne-la-Vallée. Some of the postmodern architecture in the commune has been used as a shooting location in movies including ''Brazil'' and ''The Hunger Games''. Racewalking
Racewalking, or race walking, is a long-distance discipline within the sport of athletics. Although a foot race, it is different from running in that one foot must appear to be in contact with the ground at all times. Referee, Race judges carefully assess that this is maintained throughout the race. Typically held on either roads or running tracks, common distances range from up to 100 kilometres race walk, 100 kilometres (62.1 mi). Paris-Colmar is an annual racewalking competition covering about 445 kilometers for men, and 300 kilometers for women and for men who participate for the first time. The competition began in 1926 as race from Strasbourg to Paris. The contest for women has been held since 1988. Grzegorz Adam Urbanowski
Grzegorz Adam Urbanowski (born 24 December 1959 in Pultusk), Polish ultramarathon racewalker. Sports career started as a cyclist, then for a short period competed in long-distance running, finally settling on a sporty gait. In 1990, he won the Polish Championship, and in 1991 the title of vice-Polish 50 km (3:58:19 - RZ) since 1992, specializes in marches at distances of 200 km or more. He won ten times (in the years 1994, 1996-1998, 2001–03, 2005-07) the Paris-Colmar, setting a historical record for the competition previously held by Roger Quemener. Breton People
The Bretons (; br, Bretoned or ''Vretoned,'' ) are a Celtic ethnic group native to Brittany.
