Roger McLachlan
Roger McLachlan (born 15 January 1954) is a New Zealand bass guitarist based in Australia. He was an early bass player for Little River Band. Early life McLachlan was born on 15 January 1954 in the small town of Riverton, near Invercargill, New Zealand. He came to Australia in 1974 to join the touring band for the stage musical ''Godspell''. Little River Band In 1975, McLachlan was invited to join the supergroup Little River Band, replacing the short tenure of Dave Orams. He appeared on the first two albums ''Little River Band'' and '' After Hours'', and toured extensively, making 311 appearances with the band. He was replaced by George McArdle in 1976. By 1998, all original members of Little River Band had left. Guitarist Stephen Housden revived the band, and asked McLachlan to re-join. Riverton / Aparima is a small town west of Invercargill and located on the south-eastern shorelines of the Jacobs River Estuary. This is formed by the Aparima and Pourakino rivers, leading through a narrow outflow channel into Foveaux Strait. Stephen Housden
Stephen Frank Housden (born ) is an English-born Australian musician. He joined the rock group Little River Band (LRB) in 1981 on lead guitar and vocals and ceased performing with them in 2006. Previously, Housden had worked as a session musician for various Australian artists. During the 1970s he was a member of Stevie Wright's band and Marcia Hines' touring and session bands. Housden released his debut solo album, ''New World Groove'', in 1993. Biography Stephen Frank Housden was born in in Bedfordshire, England. With his father, Frank, and mother, Sylvia, he migrated to Australia in April 1959 on '' Fairsky'' when he was eight. Little River Band (LRB) are a rock band originally formed in Melbourne, Australia, in March 1975. The band achieved commercial success in both Australia and the United States. They have sold more than 30 million records; six studio albums reached the top 10 on the Australian Kent Music Report albums chart including '' Diamantina Cocktail'' (May 1977) and ''First Under the Wire'' (July 1979), which both peaked at No. 2. ''After Hours'' is the second studio album from the Australian rock band Little River Band, released in April 1976. It peaked at No. 5 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart. Lead singer Glenn Shorrock names this album as his favourite album by the band. The album was released in the US in 1980. In between the recording of ''After Hours'' and ''Diamantina Cocktail'', two founding members of the band departed: Ric Formosa (lead guitar) and Roger McLachlan (bass). ''Little River Band'' is the debut studio album by the Australian rock group Little River Band which was released by EMI in October 1975. It peaked at No. 17 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart and was certified 2× gold in Australia in November 1976. Singles The band's first single, " Curiosity (Killed the Cat)", was released in September 1975, ahead of the album and peaked at No. 15 on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart.
