Rodae
Rodae (officially ''RODAE Automobile Craiova S.A.'', and later ''Daewoo Automobile Romania S.A.'') was a joint venture between S.C. Automobile Craiova S.A. and Daewoo Heavy Industries that started in 1994. History In November 1994, Daewoo opened a production line in Romania, becoming the country's most important foreign investor, by establishing a joint venture, created by Automobile Craiova and the South Korean Daewoo group. In 2006, Daewoo Automobile Craiova S.A. bought back 51% of the shares owned by the Korean company, which became 100% owned by the Romanian state. In 2008, it was sold to Ford of Europe, a division of Ford Motor Company. Oltcit Club
The Oltcit Club was a supermini produced between 1984 and 1988 and developed in co-operation by Citroën of France and Oltcit, a joint venture company with the Romanian government. They were powered by the air-cooled engines from the Citroën GS/GSA; the air-cooled flat-twin engine from the Citroën Visa used in the Romanian-market Oltcit Special was not installed in the export-only Citroën Axel. Development history From 1965 Robert Opron worked on the Citroën G-mini prototype and project EN101, a projected replacement for the 2CV using that car's flat twin engine. It was supposed to be launched in 1970. The advanced space-efficient designs, with very compact exterior dimensions and an aerodynamic drag co-efficient Cd of 0.32, were axed because of adverse feedback from potential clients. Oltena (officially ''S.C. Automobile Craiova S.A.'') was a Romanian car manufacturer formed in 1991 after the takeover of the Oltcit shares held by Citroën by the Romanian state. From 1994 and up until 2006, ''Automobile Craiova S.A.'' (''ACSA'') had as its basic activity the sale of various spare parts and accessories for Oltena, Dacia and Daewoo cars. Daewoo Tacuma
The Daewoo Tacuma (or Rezzo) is a compact MPV that was produced by South Korean manufacturer Daewoo. Developed under the U100 code name, it was designed by Pininfarina and is based on the original Daewoo Nubira J100, a compact car. Following the phasing out of Daewoo as a brand in most export markets, the car was rebadged as a Chevrolet, retaining either model name depending on the market. Additionally, the Chevrolet Vivant nameplate was introduced for the Singaporean, South African and South American markets. Engines The Tacuma comes with 1.6 L Family 1 or 2.0 L Family II straight-4 engines. 1.8 L engine was offered until 2005. Daewoo Nubira is a compact car which was produced by the South Korean automaker Daewoo from 1997 to 2002 as a 4-door sedan, 5-door hatchback and a 5-door station wagon. Development The Daewoo Nubira (J100 platform) was released in 1997 reflecting Daewoo's new found design and manufacturing process. Production took under 30 months by ex-Porsche and BMW engineering chief Dr. Ulrich Bez (later of Aston Martin), with Daewoo's growing in-house R&D network in Korea, Worthing and Munich collaborating with the world's best engineering consultancies. The Daewoo Leganza is an executive sedan car that was manufactured and marketed by the automobile manufacturer Daewoo. The Leganza was available as a four-door Sedan with front engine, front-wheel drive, four door, five passenger sedan of type of limousine manufactured and marketed by Daewoo in South Korea over a single generation for model years 1997-2002 and internally designated as the V100. The Daewoo Tico is a city car produced by the South Korean automaker Daewoo from 1991 to 2001. Overview The Daewoo Tico was based largely on the 1988 Kei car Suzuki Alto. The car was equipped with a three-cylinder 796 cc S-TEC engine -upgraded version for export markets of the "Kei" engine 547 cc (33.4 cu in) F5B engine-, and came with either a five-speed manual transmission or three-speed automatic transmission (only in Korea). The Daewoo Espero (also known as Daewoo Aranos in Spain) is a four-door, five-seater mid-sized saloon produced by the South Korean company Daewoo Motors from September 1990 to 1997. The Espero was the first car entirely developed by Daewoo, which until then had only manufactured models developed by Opel. The Daewoo LeMans is a compact car, first manufactured by Daewoo in South Korea between 1986 and 1994, and between 1994 and 1997 as Daewoo Cielo — a car mechanically identical to the LeMans, differentiated only by its modified styling cues. Like all Daewoos preceding it, the LeMans took its underpinnings from a European Opel design.
