Rocky Mountain Rage
The Rocky Mountain Rage were a professional ice hockey team that played in the Central Hockey League between the 2006–07 and 2008-09 seasons. They played their home games at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colorado. On June 18, 2009, the team announced it was suspending operations for the 2009–10 CHL season with hopes of returning in 2010–11, but went defunct. Broomfield, Colorado
Broomfield is a consolidated city and county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. Broomfield has a consolidated government which operates under Article XX, Sections 10-13 of the Constitution of the State of Colorado. The Broomfield population was 74,112 at the 2020 United States Census, making it the 15th most populous municipality and the 12th most populous county in Colorado. Broomfield is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor. History Several railroads figure in the development of this area. Central Hockey League
The Central Hockey League (CHL) was a North American mid-level minor professional ice hockey league which operated from 1992 until 2014. It was founded by Ray Miron and Bill Levins and later sold to Global Entertainment Corporation, which operated the league from 2000 to 2013, at which point it was purchased by the individual franchise owners. As of the end of its final season in 2014, three of the 30 National Hockey League teams had affiliations with the CHL: the Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Several teams of defunct leagues joined the CHL along its history, including the Southern Hockey League, Western Professional Hockey League and International Hockey League. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. 2009–10 CHL Season
The 2009–10 CHL season was the 18th season of the Central Hockey League (CHL). The season run from October 16, 2009 until March 20, 2010, followed with the Ray Miron President's Cup playoffs. The 2010 Central Hockey League All-Star Game was on January 13, 2010 at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The season ended on May 4, 2010 when the Rapid City Rush defeated the Allen Americans in double overtime. Brent Cullaton
Brent Cullaton (born November 12, 1974) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player. He is also a three-time Central Hockey League all-star. During his final professional seasons in the CHL, Cullaton also served as the General Manager and Head Coach for the Boulder Junior Bison of the Western States Hockey League until 2012. With his most successful years in the Central Hockey League with the Rocky Mountain Rage, Cullaton remained in Colorado as his primary residence. Cullaton joined the newly established Denver Cutthroats of the CHL as the Assistant General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations. With the intention to skate in the Denver Cutthroats celebrity charity hockey game at the Denver Coliseum, Cullaton came out of retirement and signed a 5-game playing contract with the short-handed Cutthroats on February 5, 2013. Scott Reid (born November 25, 1976) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender and husband of two-time gold medal Olympic ice hockey defender Meaghan Mikkelson.
