Charles Rochon
Charles Rochon (1673–1733) was a French colonist and was one of the four founders of modern-day Mobile, Alabama. Life and career Rochon was born in 1673 in Quebec. He became a fur trapper and was associated with Henri de Tonti, accompanying him on many of his expeditions. In 1701 he came to colonial Louisiana, and he was a colonist at the settlement of Fort Louis De Mobile located at modern-day Axis, Alabama, an area of habitation that preceded the modern-day city of Mobile. In 1706, along with Pierre LeBouef, Gilbert Dardenne and Claude Parent, Rochon left the settlement at Axis, moving down to a site at the mouth of the Mobile River, site of present-day Mobile. The success that the four had at this site was a contributing factor of the relocation of Mobile from the site at Axis to its present site in 1711. Jean Rochon
Jean Rochon (July 29, 1938 – October 16, 2021) was a Canadian politician and member of the National Assembly of Quebec. He was a cabinet minister for several ministries from 1994 to 2003 when the Parti Québécois formed the government under the leadership of Jacques Parizeau, Lucien Bouchard and Bernard Landry. Early life Rochon was born in Montreal on July 29, 1938. His father, Albert, was employed as a longshoreman; his mother was Germaine (Laliberté). Rochon completed his secondary education at the in his hometown. He graduated from the Université de Montréal with a Bachelor of Arts in 1958, before earning a law degree from the same institution three years later. He then obtained a medical degree from the Université Laval in 1966, before being awarded a masters and doctorate in public health from Harvard University. Buffalo Lake (Alberta)
Buffalo Lake is a large lake in central Alberta. It is located in at the limit between Camrose County, the County of Stettler No. 6 and Lacombe County, approximately east of Red Deer. The lake lies in the Red Deer River basin, and has a water surface of 93.5 km2 and a drainage area of 1,440 km2. The recreational areas of ''Boss Hill'', Rochon Sands, ''White Sands, Scenic Sands, Buffalo Sands. Pelican Point, Pelican View Estates (PVE)'', and ''The Narrows'' are established on the shores of the lake, as is the Rochon Sands Provincial Park. Alexis-Marie de Rochon, known as Abbé Rochon, was born in Brest, France on 21 February 1741, and died in Paris on 5 April 1817. He was a French astronomer, physicist and traveller. He worked on lens design and crystal optics, inventing the Rochon prism polariser. Biography In 1769, Rochon was part of an expedition under Ensign Grenier to find new, quicker maritime routes between Isle de France and India. On 30 May 1769, the expedition departed, with the corvettes ''Heure du Berger'', under Grenier, and ''Vert-Galant'', under Commander La Fontaine. They were bound for Saint-Brandon, where they arrived on 2 June. Debbie Ann Rochon (born November 3, 1968) is a Canadian actress and former stage performer, best known for her work in independent horror films and counterculture films. Early life When Rochon was ten years old, her parents were deemed unfit to raise her, and she was remanded to foster care. Shuttled from one foster home to the next, Rochon ran away to Vancouver. When she was 14 and homeless, she was violently robbed by a homeless man, who assaulted her with a knife and slashed her upper right arm, leaving her with a large vertical scar.
