''Roch Voisine'' (also known as ''On the Outside'' as per the first track on the album) is a 1990 album by Canadian singer Roch Voisine. It has the same content as the English tracks of his bilingual French / English double album entitled ''Double'' released the same year. It provided two singles in France, which achieved moderate success in comparison with the singer's previous singles : "On the Outside" (#10) and "Waiting" (#16). Its chart performances and certifications were probably merged to the singer's previous album, ''Double'', as its content is partially the same as that of the double album. Therefore, the album debuted at #4 on 6 December 1990 on the SNEP Albums Chart and had a peak at number two for two weeks. It totaled 26 weeks in the top ten and 73 weeks in the top 50. Roch Voisine
Joseph Armand Roch Voisine, (born 26 March 1963) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, actor, and radio and television host who lives in Montreal and Paris. He writes and performs material in both English and French. He won the Juno Award for Male Vocalist of the Year in 1994. In 1997, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. Beginnings Born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, he grew up in Saint-Basile, New Brunswick and later moved to Notre-Dame-du-Lac, Quebec when he was 12. ''Double'' is a 1990 bilingual French / English double album by Canadian singer Roch Voisine as a follow up to the album '' Hélène''. The first CD is all in French, the second all in English. The English tracks were also released as a separate album entitled ''Roch Voisine''. Album information The album was recorded in Canada and France, and was mixed in France. Famous singer-songwriter and guitarist Francis Cabrel participated in one of the tracks of the second album. In France, the album spawned three top three singles : "La berceuse du petit diable" (#3), "Darlin'" (#2), and later "La promesse" (#3) and "Avec tes yeux (Pretty Face)" (#3). ''Europe Tour'' is a 1992 album by Canadian singer Roch Voisine containing some of his best live performances in Europe with 22 of his hits, 18 in French and 4 in English. The album was successful on the chart. In France, the album spawned a sole single : "La légende Oochigeas", which was released in live version and hit number four on the singles chart and remained in the top 50 for 20 weeks. Francis Christian Cabrel (; born 23 November 1953) is a French singer-songwriter, composer and guitarist. Considered one of the most influential French musical artists of all time, he has released a number of albums falling mostly within the realm of folk, with occasional forays into blues or country. "Hélène" is a 1989 pop song recorded by the Canadian singer Roch Voisine. Written and composed by Voisine and Stéphane Lessard with guitars played by Carl Katz and keyboards by Luc Gilbert, it was the first single from his first studio album '' Hélène'', and was released in November 1989. It is mainly a song in French-language, but contains a line in English as follows: "Hélène things you do / Make me crazy about you". The cover for the CD maxi used the same photograph as that of the album '' Hélène'' : Roch Voisine's face with a black background. "Hélène" achieved a great success in France where it topped the singles chart for nine weeks, thus allowing Voisine to launch his international career.
