Robin Peverett
Robin David Peverett was a 'House parent' at Pestalozzi Children's Village before becoming a 'housemaster' at DCPS Coursehorn in 1963, and later headmaster of Dulwich College Preparatory School (near Cranbrook, Kent) from circa 1967 to 1990. Peverett was promoted from Cadet to Second Lieutenant with effect from May 30, 1953 for the Royal Sussex Regiment. He was appointed to be an Officer of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) on December 30, 1995 for services to education. He was, at that time, Director of Education, Incorporated, Association of Preparatory Schools. Sentence He was sentenced by the Maidstone Crown Court in 2000 to 18 months in prison suspended for two years, after admitting nine charges of indecently assaulting seven pupils (six girls and one boy, between the ages of 10 and 13) in the late 1960s/1970s. Dulwich Preparatory School
Dulwich Prep Cranbrook is a co-educational preparatory school for children aged 3–13 near Cranbrook, Kent. Since September 2010, the Headmaster has been Paul David. History In the autumn of 1938, John Leakey, the Headmaster of Dulwich College Preparatory School in Dulwich, London, organized an emergency evacuation camp to be constructed in the orchard on his father-in-law’s land at Coursehorn, near Cranbrook, Kent. Originally there were 6 wooden huts, some bell tents, a marquee and some camp kitchen equipment. After much preparation, on 1 September 1939, the train taking the 135 boys aged 5–13 set off from West Dulwich Station, arriving at Cranbrook Station after 9pm in the pouring rain and were transported by car, sheep lorry and on foot to the camp three miles away at Coursehorn. Cranbrook, Kent
Cranbrook is a town in the civil parish of Cranbrook and Sissinghurst, in the Weald of Kent in South East England. It lies roughly half-way between Maidstone and Hastings, about southeast of central London. The smaller settlements of Sissinghurst, Swattenden, Colliers Green and Hartley lie within the civil parish. The population of the parish was 6,717 in 2011.
