Louis Robichaud
Louis Joseph Robichaud (October 21, 1925 – January 6, 2005), popularly known as "Little Louis" or "P'tit-Louis", was the second (but first elected) Acadian premier of New Brunswick, serving from 1960 to 1970. With the Equal Opportunity program, the language rights act of 1969 establishing New Brunswick as an officially bilingual province, and for his role in the creation of the Université de Moncton, Robichaud is credited with ushering in major social reform in New Brunswick. Jocelyn Robichaud (born 8 April 1978 in Joliette, Quebec) is a former tour professional tennis player. Robichaud captured three junior Grand Slam titles and played Davis Cup for Canada. More of a doubles specialist, he won three Challenger events in doubles and reached a career-high ATP doubles ranking of World No. 119. Albany M. Robichaud (22 July 1903 – 27 October 1974) was a Canadian lawyer and politician. Robichaud was a Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in Shippagan, New Brunswick and became a barrister by career. He attended University of St. Joseph's College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1923, then in 1926 attained a Master of Arts. He proceeded to the University of New Brunswick for law studies where in 1927 he received a Bachelor of Civil Law degree then called to the bar that year. He then established a law practice in Bathurst, New Brunswick and in 1943 received a Doctor of Civil Law degree from Bathurst's Université du Sacré-Coeur. From 1945 to 1948, he was mayor of Bathurst. Hédard Joseph Robichaud (November 2, 1911 – August 16, 1999) was an Acadian-Canadian Member of Parliament, Cabinet member, Senator and the first Acadian to be Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick. Born in Shippagan, New Brunswick, the son of Jean George Robichaud and Amanda Boudreau, he received a B.A. from the Université Saint-Joseph, later the University of Moncton, in 1931. He first ran for the House of Commons as a Liberal candidate in a 1952 by-election in the riding of Gloucester, New Brunswick and lost. He was elected in the 1953 federal election, and was re-elected in the 1957, 1958, 1962, 1963 and 1965 elections. From 1963 to 1968, he was the Minister of Fisheries. Fernand Robichaud (born December 2, 1939) is a Canadian politician. He was born in Shippagan, New Brunswick and received a teaching certificate from the Moncton Technical Institute. Before entering politics, Robichaud was a teacher and businessman. He served on the municipal council for Saint-Louis-de-Kent from 1971 to 1974. Robichaud was first elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 1984 election representing the riding of Westmorland—Kent, New Brunswick. In the 1988 election, he was re-elected representing Beauséjour.
