Roberto Trotta
Roberto Trotta (born 28 January 1969 in Pigüé) is an Argentine football manager and former defender. Trotta played club football in Argentina, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Ecuador. During his time in the Argentine Primera he set the record for the highest number of red cards ever with 17. Trotta was a member of several championship winning teams, the highlight of his career was helping Vélez Sársfield to win the 1994 Copa Libertadores. Trotta has worked as a manager, including a spell as manager of Almagro in 2007. Pigüé
Pigüé () is a town in Argentina located in the Pampas, south-west of Buenos Aires. It was founded by 165 Occitan language, Occitan-speaking France, French immigrants from Aveyron (Avairon in Occitan language, occitan) and one Argentine of direct Republic of Ireland, Irish descent on December 4, 1884. The urban population is now 13,822 (INDEC 2001) and has increased by 9.5% since the 1991 census. Pigüé is the administrative centre of Saavedra Partido, Buenos Aires Province. The Copa Interamericana ( en, Interamerican Cup) was an annual club football competition contested between a representative from North America (CONCACAF) and South America (CONMEBOL). Established in 1969, it was discontinued in 1998 after CONCACAF clubs, particularly those from Mexico, began participating in CONMEBOL competitions. The competition was intended to be contested between the winners of the North American CONCACAF Champions Cup and the South American Copa Libertadores tournaments, although the participants varied at times. The competition was usually contested over a two legged tie, with a playoff or penalty kicks if necessary. However, it was common for several consecutive editions to go unheld. The 1994 Intercontinental Cup was an association football match played on 1 December 1994, between Milan, winners of the 1993–94 UEFA Champions League, and Vélez Sársfield, winners of the 1994 Copa Libertadores. The match was played at the National Stadium in Tokyo. It was Milan's sixth appearance into the competition, after the victories in 1969, 1989, 1990 and the defeats in 1963 and 1993, whereas it was Vélez Sársfield's first appearance. The 1994 Copa Libertadores was the 35th edition of the Copa Libertadores, CONMEBOL, CONMEBOL's premier annual international competition. Club Atlético Vélez Sársfield, Vélez Sársfield won the tournament for their first title against São Paulo FC, São Paulo in a Penalty shootout (association football), penalty shootout with a score of 5–3. The Apertura and Clausura system was a single round-robin tournament format used for the Argentine Primera División championships. Introduced in 1990–91, it lasted until the 2012–13 season when it was replaced by the "Inicial and Final", a similar tournament. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the ''Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''".
