Roberto Romanello
Roberto Romanello is a Welsh professional poker player from Swansea, Wales. He has made more than $4,000,000 from live tournaments. Romanello took up poker in 2005 after a sports injury sidelined him for three months. After enjoying watching the World Series of Poker on television, he started to play online and won a World Poker Tour prize package within his first two weeks of playing. After this initial success, Romanello began playing live tournaments at his local casino, in 2006. Also in 2006, he traveled to Las Vegas for his first WSOP Main Event. Romanello performed well, finishing 312th and taking home almost $40,000. Romanello is one of the most successful Welsh poker players. He is top of the Wales All Time Money List. 2006 World Series Of Poker
The 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) began on June 25, 2006 with satellite events, with regular play commencing on June 26 with the annual Casino Employee event, and the Tournament of Champions held on June 28 and 29. 40 more events in various disciplines including Omaha, seven-card stud and razz, plus ladies' and senior tournaments led up to the 10,000 US$ no-limit Texas hold 'em main event starting July 28 and running through the final table on August 10. The European Poker Tour (EPT) is a series of poker tournaments similar to those in the World Poker Tour (WPT), created by John Duthie, winner of the inaugural Poker Million tournament. It began in 2004 as part of the worldwide explosion in Texas Hold 'em popularity. Since 2011 the EPT has been sponsored and wholly owned and controlled by PokerStars the online casino and taped by Sunset + Vine for television broadcast across Europe. In seasons 1-3, the most significant difference between the competing poker tours was the buy-in and its effect on the prize pool, with the EPT featuring buy-ins about half the size of the WPT. 2020 World Series Of Poker Online
The 2020 World Series of Poker Online was a series of online poker tournaments organized by the World Series of Poker (WSOP). It was held from July 1-September 8 and featured 85 bracelet events, 31 on WSOP.com and 54 on GGPoker. In June, the WSOP announced the series as a result of postponing the 2020 WSOP in Las Vegas, Nevada due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Events included the $50 Big 50, the lowest buy-in WSOP event in history, as well as four People's Choice tournaments that allowed players to vote on which game to play.
