Roberto Fernandes (born 2 November 1971) is a former Indian football player who played as a defender. He appeared in 29 international matches for India national team. Fernandes spent his majority of career by playing for Goan club Salgaocar FC. He has also played for other Goan clubs such as Churchill Brothers S.C. and Vasco SC. Fernandes has represented India in tournaments like 1998 Asian Games, and Nehru Cup. In 2000, he moved to Belize and played for Belize Premier Football League side San Pedro Seahawks until 2001. Club career Early years Fernandes began his professional club career in 1991, at Salcete FC, that participated in the Goa First Division. SAFF Championship
The South Asian Football Federation Championship, commonly known as SAFF Championship (previously known as ''South Asian Association of Regional Co-operation Gold Cup'' and ''South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup''), is the main international association football competition of the men's national football teams governed by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). National Football League (India)
The National Football League (NFL) was a league competition featuring football clubs from India. Founded in 1996 through the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the NFL was the first football league in India to be organized on a national scale. The AIFF then added a second division in 1997 and a third division was soon added by the governing body in 2006. The NFL was eventually replaced by the I-League for the 2007–08 season in order to professionalize the sport in India. Boria Majumdar is an Indian sports journalist, sports historian and writer. He was the co-writer of Sachin Tendulkar's autobiography '' Playing it My Way''. He is currently banned for 2 years by the Board of Control for Cricket in India for threatening cricketer Wriddhiman Saha. Early life Majumdar was born on 8 March 1976 at Kolkata. He completed his schooling from The Frank Anthony Public School, Kolkata. He completed his B.A. in History from Presidency College, University of Calcutta in the year 1997.
