Robert Hughes (darts Player)
Robert Hughes (born 12 December 1966) is a Welsh former professional darts player. He uses the nickname "Elvis", after his favourite singer, Elvis Presley. Career Hughes reached the quarter finals of the 1997 Welsh Open and the 2000 British Open and then reached the semi finals of the 2004 Welsh Open, where he beat Lee Palfreyman, Steve Smith (darts player), Steve Smith and John Walton (darts player), John Walton before losing to Tony West (dart player), Tony West. Hughes then won the 2005 Wales National Championship, beating Mark Webster (darts player), Mark Webster in the final. Hughes reached the final of the 2006 BDO Gold Cup, losing to Gary Anderson (darts player), Gary Anderson. He then reached the quarter finals of the 2006 WDF Europe Cup where he lost to Sweden's Göran Klemme. International Darts League
The Topic International Darts League was a darts tournament held at the Triavium in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Raymond van Barneveld dominated the tournament, held in his home country, winning it on three of the five occasions it was held. Gary Anderson was the final champion, having claimed the title in 2007, when the tournament also became the first major event to witness two nine dart finishes. Held in May, it was the second leg of the BDO’s Grand Slam title of televised majors, along with the World Darts Trophy, the Winmau World Masters and the Lakeside World Professional Championship. Eddy "Eddy" Sims (born 2 December 1971 in Geelong) is a former professional Australian darts player Career Sims began playing in WDF ranked events in 2006, mainly playing in events based in his homeland. He reached the quarter-finals of the Pacific Masters in 2006 and 2007 and followed it up by reaching the final of the 2007 Australian Masters where he lost to Simon Whitlock. Sims made three ranked semi final appearances in 2008, in the Pacific Masters, Malaysian Open and the New Zealand Masters. He had earlier reached the semi-finals of the Central Coast Australian Classic, an unranked event. Sims then won the 2008 Australian Masters, defeating Adam Bainbridge 8–1 in the final. 2009 BDO World Darts Championship
The 2009 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship was the 32nd World Championship organised by the British Darts Organisation. Mark Webster was the defending men's champion having won the title for the first time in the 2008 final against Simon Whitlock, but he was eliminated 4–0 by John Walton in the second round. The title was eventually won by 2000 champion Ted Hankey, who won 7–6 against Tony O'Shea, in a match which lasted just under two and a half hours. The defending women's champion, Anastasia Dobromyslova, was due to defend her championship, having beaten seven-time champion Trina Gulliver in the 2008 final, but on 7 December 2008 she resigned from the BDO/WDF setup after her defeat in the Winmau World Masters to Francis Hoenselaar. Robbie Green (born 19 July 1974) is a former English professional darts player. His nickname was Kong. PDC career Green made his televised debut at the 2004 UK Open, reaching the last 64 stage. The same year he qualified for the World Matchplay in Blackpool Losing in the first round to Bob Anderson. In the 2006 UK Open, he reached the quarter-finals, beating Jamie Harvey, Chris Mason, Mark Walsh and Terry Jenkins along the way. He was eventually beaten by John MaGowan. David Michael Prins (born 16 November 1968) is an English professional darts player. Career Prins reached the last 16 of the 2009 Winmau World Masters, where he lost to Tony O'Shea in three straight sets. Prins qualified for his first BDO World Darts Championship in 2010.
