Robert Tanner Freeman
Robert Tanner Freeman (18461873) was an American dentist. As one of the first six students to attend the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, he became the first African American to graduate with a dental degree in the United States on March 10, 1869. He subsequently practiced dentistry in Washington, D.C. Early life and education Freeman was born near Washington, D.C., in 1846. He was the son of a carpenter who had bought his family's freedom and then moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. During his late teens, Freeman worked for a mentor, Dr. Henry Bliss Noble, a white dentist in Washington. Before Freeman was accepted into the Harvard Dental School, now the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, he was rejected by two other institutions because of the color of his skin. Robert Freeman Smith (June 16, 1931September 21, 2020), commonly known as Bob Smith, was an American Republican politician who represented Oregon in the United States House of Representatives from 1983 to 1995 and from 1997 to 1999. Early life and education Smith was born in Portland, Oregon, and grew up in Burns, Oregon. His father, Benjamin F. Smith, was a doctor. He attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, graduating in 1953 with a bachelor's degree in agriculture. Robert Freeman Hopwood (July 24, 1856 – March 1, 1940) was a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Biography Robert F. Hopwood was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He studied under private teachers. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1879 and commenced practice in Uniontown. He was chairman of the Republican county committee. Robert Freeman (5 December 1936 – 6 or 7 November 2019) was an English photographer and graphic designer best known for his work with the Beatles, shooting some of the band's most recognizable images featured on several of their album covers. From 1963 to 1966, he worked extensively with the group and did the photography and design on five of their album sleeves released consecutively on the Parlophone label in the UK, as well as on several albums on Capitol Records in the US and on various labels in other countries.
