Robert Frederick Collins (born January 27, 1931) is a civil rights attorney and former United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Education and career Collins was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from Gilbert Academy. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dillard University in 1951 and a Bachelor of Laws from Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University where he was one of the first three African American students admitted in 1954. He was in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956, thereafter entering private practice in New Orleans from 1956 to 1972. Major-General Robert John Collins CMG DSO (22 August 1880 – 6 March 1950) was a British Army officer who became Commandant of the Staff College, Camberley. Military career Educated at Marlborough College, Collins, after service with the 6th Warwick Militia during the Second Boer War, was commissioned into the Royal Berkshire Regiment in 1899. He fought in the Second Boer War and then served with the Egyptian Army until 1911 and attended the Staff College, Camberley from 1913 to 1914, where J. F. C. Fuller was one of his fellow students. He took part in the First World War, becoming Chief Instructor at the Staff School in Cambridge during the last year of the war. He was appointed Commander of 73rd Brigade later in 1918 and became an instructor at the Staff College, Camberley in 1919 before taking up a post as Director of Military Training in India in 1924. Robert Collins (1800 – 11 December 1868) was an Irish physician who became master of the Rotunda Hospital aged 26. Robert "Rob" Collins (born March 15, 1978) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player, currently an unrestricted free agent who most recently played for the Düsseldorfer EG of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Collins played eight games for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). Collins was born in Peterborough, Ontario.
