Robert Barry Cutler
Robert Barry Cutler (August 11, 1810 – April 3, 1882) was a Canadian Liberal politician who represented the riding of Kent, New Brunswick, for one term from 1872 to 1874. He represented Kent in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1850 to 1856. Born in Westmorland, New Brunswick, the son of Eben Cutler, he was educated at Annapolis Grammar School. He married Henrietta F. Charters in 1831. In 1855, he was a commissioner to settle the Canada disputed territory fund. Auguste Renaud
Auguste Renaud (October 18, 1835 – July 7, 1897) was a New Brunswick farmer and political figure. He represented Kent in the 1st Canadian Parliament as a Liberal member and was the first Acadian elected to the House of Commons. He was born in Bordeaux, France in 1835 and settled near Bouctouche, New Brunswick around 1850. In 1862, he married Cécile Léger. After his term in office, he served as customs collector at Bouctouche until 1891. He died in Fond-de-la-Baie near Bouctouche in 1897. Cap-Pelé ( ap pəle is an unincorporated community in Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada. It held village status prior to 2023. The community centres on the intersection of Route 945 and Route 133 but extends to Route 950. Its sister city is Broussard, Louisiana, United States. Geography It is located on the Northumberland Strait approximately 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of Moncton. Approximately 88% of its residents are Francophone. History The village was founded by Acadians in 1780 and incorporated as a municipality in 1969. Fishing is the dominant industry, and the town is home to several smoked herring processing plants known locally as ''boucannières''. As many as 30 smokehouses are found in Cap-Pelé and its surrounding areas. Work in the smokehouses tends to be seasonal, and during the summertime certain smokehouses offer guided tours.
