Robert A. Taft Information Technology High School
Taft Information Technology High School is a public high school located in the West End area of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. It is part of the Cincinnati Public Schools district (CPS). History The school was created in 1955 and named after former U.S. Senator Robert A. Taft, the son of former United States President William H. Taft. In the spring of 2011, a new $18 million building was constructed. Academics Taft is a GRAD Cincinnati school, which helps students focus on the goal of going to college. This program awards college scholarships to students who fulfill requirements. Athletics Stargel Stadium Taft Stadium was completed in 1986 for the school's football program, replacing a makeshift, hole-ridden practice field. In 1990, it was renamed for Willard R. Adolphus Fitzgerald Washington, Jr. (born November 24, 1994) is a former American football defensive tackle. He played college football at Ohio State Buckeyes football, Ohio State and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. TQL Stadium, called West End Stadium during construction, is a soccer-specific stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is the home of FC Cincinnati, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team that had been temporarily playing at Nippert Stadium. The stadium is located in the West End neighborhood, at the former site of Stargel Stadium on Central Parkway at Wade Street. The stadium cost about $250 million to construct and holds 26,000 spectators. Cincinnati Christian University (CCU) was a private Christian university in Cincinnati, Ohio. CCU was supported by the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ, which are part of the Restoration Movement. Hughes STEM High School is a public high school located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is part of the Cincinnati Public Schools. History The first Hughes High School was established in 1853 on property on Fifth and Mound streets. The school owes its name to Thomas Hughes, an Englishman and shoemaker, who, by his will, dated December, 1826, left his property for a high school, which was built in 1853 at a cost of $23,375.
