Rob Pallin
Rob Pallin (born November 19, 1966, in Chisholm, Minnesota) is a professional ice hockey coach from the United States. He is serving as head coach of Austrian team HC TWK Innsbruck. Playing career Pallin started skating at the age of three in his hometown Chisholm, Minnesota. He played for the Austin Mavericks and helped them win the 1984 USHL championship. He played ice hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth (1985–87), before transferring to Western Michigan University in 1988. Following graduation, Pallin turned pro and played in Germany, France as well as for the Las Vegas Aces in the PSHL and WCHL sides Reno Rage and Fresno Falcons. Coaching career Pallin began his coaching career in Las Vegas, where he coached at the AA Midget 18 under and 16 under level and AAA Midget 18 under level. Chisholm, Minnesota
Chisholm is a city in St. Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 4,976 at the 2010 census. The city has been called "The Heart of the Iron Range" due to its location in the middle of the Mesabi Iron Range. History The city was named for its founder, Archibald Mark Chisholm (1862–1933), a mining man and investor from Glengarry County, Ontario, Canada. Chisholm was incorporated in 1901. A post office called Chisholm has been in operation since 1901. With a railroad line to Duluth and plenty of mining work available in and near town, Chisholm's population grew rapidly, and by 1908 it had more than 6,000 people and 500 buildings. On September 5, 1908, a fast-moving forest fire obliterated the town due to dry conditions and the wooden construction of nearly all the town's buildings. Many people escaped by going into the lake. ECHL
The ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League) is a mid-level professional ice hockey league based in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, with teams scattered across the United States and Canada. It is a tier below the American Hockey League (AHL). The ECHL and the AHL are the only minor leagues recognized by the collective bargaining agreement between the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association, meaning any player signed to an entry-level NHL contract and designated for assignment must report to a club in either the ECHL or the AHL. The ICE Hockey League (International Central European Hockey League), known as the win2day ICE Hockey League for sponsorship reasons, is a Central European hockey league that also serves as the top-tier ice hockey league in Austria, it currently features additional teams from Hungary, Italy, and Slovenia. Las Vegas Wranglers
The Las Vegas Wranglers were a professional ice hockey team based in Las Vegas Valley. The Wranglers were members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League). The Wranglers were founded as an expansion franchise in 2003 following the ECHL's takeover of the West Coast Hockey League. In May 2014, the team suspended operations for the 2014–15 ECHL season, allowing it time to secure a new home arena. In 2015, the team withdrew from the ECHL after being unable to find a home arena for the 2015-16 season. The Wranglers won many accolades over their time in the league. They have the highest winning percentage in ECHL history and hold six other ECHL records.
