Rob McVicar
Robert McVicar (born January 15, 1982) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goalie who played one game in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Vancouver Canucks during the 2005–06 season. McVicar played major junior for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League before being selected by the Canucks in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Turning professional in 2003 he played in the minor American Hockey League and ECHL before being called up and playing his lone NHL game on December 1, 2005 against the Edmonton Oilers, appearing for 3 minutes. He remained in the minor leagues for a further four seasons before retiring from hockey in 2009 and became a financial planner and stockbroker. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the ''Ice hockey rink#Crease, goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). Major Junior
Junior hockey is a level of competitive ice hockey generally for players between 16 and 21 years of age. Junior hockey leagues in the United States and Canada are considered amateur (with some exceptions) and operate within regions of each country. In Canada, the highest level is major junior, and is governed by the Canadian Hockey League, which itself has three constituent leagues: the Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and the Western Hockey League. 2001–02 WHL Season
The 2001–02 WHL season was the 36th season for the Western Hockey League. Nineteen teams completed a 72-game season. The Kootenay Ice won the President's Cup before going on to win the Memorial Cup. The British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league from British Columbia under Hockey Canada and BC Hockey. Founded in Vernon in 1961, the BCHL now includes 18 teams. From 1993 to 2021, the league was a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL), an association of Junior A leagues across Canada that would play for the National Junior A Championship. The Trail Smoke Eaters are a junior A ice hockey team from Trail, British Columbia, Canada. They are a part of the British Columbia Hockey League. WHL Bantam Draft
The WHL Bantam Draft is an annual outing, in which the teams of the Western Hockey League select players who have graduated from bantam. The draft's order of selection depends on where the team finishes in the league standings. The teams that miss the playoffs are placed into a lottery for the 1st round only.
