Rob McAlpine
Rob McAlpine (born 26 March 1991 in Scotland) is a Scottish rugby union player who plays for Ayr RFC at the Lock position. A former Glasgow Warriors academy player in season 2011-12, he was called back into the Warriors squad on 30 September 2016. He also previously played for Edinburgh Rugby. Rugby Union career Amateur career McAlpine plays for Ayr. Provincial career A product of Glasgow Academy, McAlpine played for Glasgow District U16, U17 and Glasgow District U18 age grades. Professional career He earned a place in the Glasgow Warriors academy for the season 2011-12 as an Elite Development Player. Although named on the Warriors bench, he did not make a competitive start. He then played for Edinburgh Rugby and earned his professional debut against Ulster at Raven Hill on 2 March 2012, coming on as a replacement at half time for Grant Gilchrist. Josh Strauss (born 23 October 1986) is a South African-born Scotland international rugby union player who currently plays for Israeli side Tel Aviv Heat. He previously played for Glasgow Warriors and the Bulls. His regular playing position is flanker or number 8. Career Strauss played for the Boland Cavaliers and Maties. He has captained the Lions in Super Rugby and the Golden Lions in the Currie Cup. On 11 September 2012 Strauss signed for Glasgow Warriors on a three-year deal. He quickly became a regular in the Warriors' side, captaining them frequently, and was an integral part of their 2014–2015 Pro12 title triumph. The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. The current name was adopted in 2021 when the league expanded to include four South African teams previously from the SANZAR Super Rugby competition. Rodney Parade
Rodney Parade is a stadium in the city of Newport, South Wales, owned and operated by the Welsh Rugby Union. It is located on the east bank of the River Usk in Newport city centre. The ground is on Rodney Road, a short walk from the city's central bus and railway stations via Newport Bridge or Newport City footbridge. There is no spectator car park at the ground but a number of multi-storey car parks are nearby. Rodney Parade is the home ground of Dragons regional rugby union team. Dragons RFC ( cy, Dreigiau) are one of the four professional rugby union regional teams in Wales.
