Roanoke, Missouri
Roanoke is an unincorporated community in Howard and Randolph counties, in the U.S. state of Missouri. History The first settlement at Roanoke was made in 1836. The community took its name from Roanoke Plantation, in Virginia, the native state of a first settler. A post office was established on the Randolph County side in 1838, where it remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1871. Howard County, Missouri
Howard County is located in the U.S. state of Missouri, with its southern border formed by the Missouri River. As of the 2020 census, the population was 10,151. Its county seat is Fayette. The county was organized January 23, 1816, and named for Benjamin Howard, the first Governor of the Missouri Territory. Randolph County is a county in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the population was 25,414. Its county seat is Huntsville. The county was organized January 22, 1829 and named for U.S. Representative and U.S. Senator John Randolph of Roanoke, Virginia. Randolph County comprises the Moberly, Missouri Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Columbia-Moberly-Mexico, Missouri Combined Statistical Area. Finks-Harvey Plantation, also known as Woodland Park and Roseland, is a historic home located near Roanoke, Missouri, Roanoke, Howard County, Missouri.
