Skid Row (American Band)
Skid Row is an American rock band formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey. Their current lineup comprises bassist Rachel Bolan, guitarists Dave Sabo and Scotti Hill, drummer Rob Hammersmith and vocalist Erik Grönwall. The group achieved commercial success in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with its first two albums ''Skid Row'' (1989) and ''Slave to the Grind'' (1991) certified multi-platinum, the latter of which reached number one on the ''Billboard'' 200. ''B-Side Ourselves'' is a studio EP by American heavy metal band Skid Row, released on September 22, 1992. It consists of cover versions of songs originally recorded by artists who influenced Skid Row. As the title suggests, most of the tracks had previously featured as B-sides on the band's various singles — "Psycho Therapy" and "Delivering the Goods" appeared on the 1992 re-release of "Youth Gone Wild", "C'mon and Love Me" appeared on both "Slave to the Grind" and "In a Darkened Room", while "What You're Doing" appeared on " Wasted Time"; only the final track, a cover of "Little Wing", was previously unreleased. The EP charted at number 58 on the ''Billboard'' 200. "Cold Gin" is a song by the American hard rock group Kiss (band), Kiss. The song was written by the band's lead guitarist Ace Frehley and was released in 1974 on the band's Kiss (Kiss album), eponymous debut album. The song is featured on many compilations released by the band. Live versions of the song were often extended for about two minutes due to Frehley's soloing. ''Guitar World'' listed "Cold Gin" as #7 on their list of greatest drinking songs. It is #14 on Liquor.com's list of top 15 drinking songs and it is ranked #32 of the 50 best drinking songs on TimeOut.com. Background "Cold Gin" is about a person suffering from poverty, loneliness, and alcoholism. However the song's meaning is widely misinterpreted to be about a struggling couple who uses alcohol to cope with a toxic relationship or about how cold gin affects the male sex drive, but thorough lyrical analysis shows this is not the case. C'mon And Love Me
"C'mon and Love Me" is a 1975 single by the American rock band Kiss. It was originally featured on the group's third album '' Dressed to Kill''. Background Written by Paul Stanley in under an hour, the track also appears in a live version on '' Alive!''. Stanley was inspired by the Moody Blues song "Question" when composing the tune. The lyrics are a playful narrative portraying a Don Juan who takes the unique tack of offering himself up to his romantic prey: "Baby, baby don't you hesitate/'Cause I just can't wait/Lady, won't you take me down to my knees/You can do what you please/C'mon and Love Me."
