Tehran
Tehran (; fa, تهران ) is the largest city in Tehran Province and the capital of Iran. With a population of around 9 million in the city and around 16 million in the larger metropolitan area of Greater Tehran, Tehran is the most populous city in Iran and Western Asia, and has the second-largest metropolitan area in the Middle East, after Cairo. It is ranked 24th in the world by metropolitan area population. Freeway 2 (Iran)
Freeway 2 in Iran consists of two separate sections, one in northwestern Iran and one in northeastern Iran. Western Section The western section of Freeway 2 runs from the capital city Tehran to Tabriz in northwestern Iran. This freeway is an important transit road that connects Iran's industrial zones to Tabriz and Turkey. The section between Tehran and Karaj is one of the busiest sections in Iran with AADT of 217084. Karaj-Qazvin has an AADT of 79606. Iran–Turkey Border
The Iran–Turkey border ( fa, ; tr, İran–Türkiye sınırı) is in length, and runs from the tripoint with Azerbaijan in the north to the tripoint with Iraq in the south. Description The border starts in the north at the tripoint with Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the Aras river. The border then proceeds to the north-west along the Karasu Çayı river, thereby granting Turkey a sliver of territory linking it to Azerbaijan. The border then proceeds south-west and then south via a series of irregular overland lines, down to the Iraqi tripoint. The border region is extremely mountainous and is populated mostly by Kurds on both sides. Tabriz–Urmia Freeway
Tabriz–Urmia Freeway ( fa, آزادراه تبریز-ارومیه) is a partially built freeway project in Northwestern Iran, East Azerbaijan and West Azerbaijan provinces, connecting the two cities of Tabriz and Urmia. It serves as a major link, with the bridge over Urmia Lake, connecting Urmia to the rest of the country via Tabriz and Freeway 2. The project consists of several segments. Segment 1 connects the city of Urmia to the western shore of Urmia Lake. Segment 2 is the causeway and bridge over the lake. These two segment opened to traffic on 2017. Segment 3 is a segment through the mountainous Islami Island. This segment consists of a 2 km long twin tunnel, and is currently under construction.
