Culpeper County is a county located along the borderlands of the northern and central region of the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 52,552. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. State Route 229 (SR 229) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. Known for most of its length as Rixeyville Road, the state highway runs from U.S. Route 15 Business and US 29 Business in Culpeper north to US 211 near Waterloo. SR 229 connects Culpeper with Catalpa and Rixeyville in northern Culpeper County. Route description SR 229 begins on a tangent with US 15 Business and US 29 Business in the town of Culpeper.
