Riverside is an unincorporated community in Malheur County, Oregon, United States. It lies at an elevation of and is part of the Ontario, Oregon–Idaho Micropolitan Statistical Area. It is northeast of Crane and south of Juntura along Juntura–Riverside Road and the South Fork Malheur River near its confluence with the main stem. The Riverside Wildlife Area, managed by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, is along the Malheur River canyon near Riverside. Encompassing , it provides public access to fishing, hunting, and wildlife viewing in a remote area that is otherwise privately owned. Riverside post office was established in 1889, with Teresa E. McRae as postmaster. The office, with a ZIP code of 97917, was discontinued in 2008. South Fork Malheur River
The South Fork Malheur River is tributary of the Malheur River in a sparsely populated part of the U.S. state of Oregon. Arising southeast of the unincorporated community of New Princeton and slightly north of Oregon Route 78, it flows generally northeast to meet the Malheur near the unincorporated community of Riverside in Malheur County. The Köppen climate classification is one of the most widely used climate classification systems. Malheur River
The Malheur River (local pronunciation: "MAL-hyure") is a tributary of the Snake River in eastern Oregon in the United States. It drains a Great Basin Desert, high desert area, between the Harney Basin and the Blue Mountains (Oregon), Blue Mountains and the Snake.
