Rio Cuchujaqui
Rio Cuchujaqui, Arroyo Cuchujaqui or Arroyo de Alamos, is a tributary river of the Fuerte River, in the Álamos Municipality of Sonora and in El Fuerte Municipality, Sinaloa, Mexico. It has its source in the Sierra de Álamos a range in the Sierra Madre Occidental in the Álamos Municipality of Sonora. Its mouth is at its confluence with the Fuerte River, just below Tehueco in Sinaloa. María Josefa Crescencia Ortiz Téllez–Girón, popularly known as Doña Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez or ''La Corregidora'' (8 September 1768 – 2 March 1829) was an insurgent and supporter of the Mexican War of Independence, which fought for independence against Spain, in the early 19th century. She was married to Miguel Domínguez, ''corregidor'' of the city of Querétaro, hence her nickname. Ortiz de Domínguez is commemorated annually in the annual reenactment of the Cry of Dolores. Tehueco, is a town in El Fuerte Municipality, in the State of Sinaloa. It was named for the fierce Tehueco, one of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas, Native American people, who resisted the Spaniard conquest of Sinaloa.
