Rina Kishi
Rina Kishi ( ja, 岸 里奈; born 23 September 2007) is a Japanese artistic gymnast. She competed at the 2023 World Championships and finished 11th in the all-around. She represented Japan at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Career Kishi began gymnastics when she was three years old. As a junior, she competed on the balance beam at the 2019 All-Japan Team Championships and helped her club place 10th. In 2022, at her first All-Japan Championships, Kishi placed 11th in the all-around, and she finished 12th at the NHK Trophy. Kishi became age-eligible for senior international competitions in 2023. She won the bronze medal in the all-around at the 2023 All-Japan Championships. She then placed second in the all-around at the 2023 NHK Trophy and was selected to make her international debut at the 2023 World Championships. Gymnastics At The 2024 Summer Olympics
Gymnastics at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will be contested in three categories: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. The artistic (27 July to 5 August) and trampoline (2 August) events will occur at the Bercy Arena, with the rhythmic events staging at Porte de La Chapelle Arena from 8 to 10 August. Qualification The qualification pathway for the 2024 Summer Olympics is significantly simplified and modified from those in 2020. In the artistic team event, a maximum of five gymnasts will be eligible to participate as opposed to the four per team and two individuals who competed in Tokyo 2020. Three teams who finish on the podium qualify for the Olympics through the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool with a large proportion of quota places distributed at the same meet in Antwerp, Belgium by the following year. In gymnastics, the floor is a specially prepared exercise surface, which is considered an apparatus. It is used by both male and female gymnasts. The gymnastics event performed on the floor is called floor exercise. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is FX. A spring floor is used in all of gymnastics to provide more bounce, and also help prevent potential injuries to lower extremity joints of gymnasts due to the nature of the apparatus, which includes the repeated pounding required to train it. Cheerleading also uses spring floors for practice. The sprung floor used for indoor athletics, however, is designed to reduce bounce.
