Riley Parsons
Riley Parsons (born 5 May 2000) is an English former professional snooker player. Career As an amateur Parsons represented England at the 2018 EBSA European men's championship in Sofia Bulgaria. Parsons turned professional for the first time in 2019 after progressing from Q School Event Two in Wigan. The Englishman, who hails from Cannock, defeated Alexander Ursenbacher, Daniel Womersley, Chae Ross, Callum Lloyd and finally Peter Lines to earn a two-year tour card from the start of the 2019/20 World Snooker Tour. He was not able to win a match his whole first season on tour. However, Parsons did win his opening match for the 2020–21 season, with a 5–4 win over Soheil Vahedi at the 2020 European Masters. Cannock is not far from the nearby towns of Walsall, Burntwood, Stafford and Telford. The cities of Lichfield and Wolverhampton are also nearby. The 2020 Matchroom.Live English Open was a professional snooker tournament that took place from 12 to 18 October 2020 at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, England. It was the second completed ranking event of the 2020–21 season, and the fifth edition of the English Open, first held in 2016. The event featured 123 professionals and 5 amateurs. On the first day of the event, two players withdrew from the event due to COVID-19 – Stuart Carrington tested positive, while Sam Craigie came into contact with Carrington. Snooker referee Andrew Barklam also tested positive. On the second day, two more players had to withdraw – Peter Lines, who tested positive, and his son, Oliver Lines, who came into contact with him. The German Masters is a professional ranking snooker tournament held at the Tempodrom in Berlin, Germany since 2011. The 2021 event was held at Milton Keynes in England because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Zhao Xintong is the reigning champion, having won the event in 2022. The Scottish Open is a ranking professional snooker tournament held in the United Kingdom. The tournament had many name changes in its history, as the tournament was formerly called International Open, Matchroom Trophy and Players Championship. Apart from a hiatus in the 1990/1991 and 1991/1992 seasons, the tournament remained a ranking event until 2003/2004.
