Rigspolitiet
The National Police of Denmark ( da, Rigspolitiet, fo, Landløgregla, kl, Naalagaaffiup Politiivi) is the upper most level of the Police of Denmark within the Kingdom (The unity of the Realm: Denmark (proper), Greenland, Faroe Islands). Administered by a framework of laws dictated by the Folketing (Danish Parliament) and the government's Minister for Justice, Rigspolitiet polices all regions governed by Denmark, including the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Organisation Leadership Rigspolitiet is controlled by the Minister for Justice via the National Commissioner of Police, who in turn operates above a number of commissioners and departments in the National Commissioner's Office. Police Of Denmark
The Police of Denmark ( da, Politiet, fo, Løgreglan, kl, Politiit) is the Danish National Police force, and the interior part of the Danish security forces (the Danish military being the exterior) in the Kingdom ( The Danish Realm: Denmark (proper), Greenland, Faroe Islands). The police are empowered to enforce the law and to effect public and social order, as well as being responsible for border control. Organization The police of Denmark consists of 12 districts each managed by a director and two minor districts in Greenland and the Faroe Islands, run by a local chief of police. The district of Copenhagen is somewhat differently organized due to its size and tasks. Thorkild Fogde
Thorkild Fogde (born 18 July 1965) is a Danes, Danish police officer and current commissioner of the Police of Denmark, Danish Police; he became National police commissioner (Denmark), National police commissioner on the 1 March 2020 replacing Jens Henrik Højbjerg. Early life Thorkild Fogde has a Master of Law degree from Aarhus Universitet from 1991. He is a former clerk for the Ministry of Justice (Denmark), Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of the State (Denmark), Prime Minister's Office. Politiets Aktionsstyrke (AKS, English: ''The Special Intervention Unit'') is the police tactical unit of the Danish National Police. It is meant to handle extraordinarily difficult or life-threatening criminal situations, such as terrorism, hostage situations, and kidnapping. It also deals with emergency rescue situations that would be too dangerous for others to handle. The AKS holds responsibility for all anti-terror and counter-terrorism missions in Denmark. It is known that AKS cross-trains with the army and navy elite-units Jægerkorpset and Frømandskorpset. Their training includes: tactical shooting, hand-to-hand combat, surveillance, and explosives. The National Police Commissioner of Denmark ( da, Rigspolitichefen) is the head of the Rigspolitiet, responsible for all activities of the police. The current Commissioner is Thorkild Fogde, he was sent home following the 2020 Danish mink cull, Mink scandal but returned to office following an investigation.
