Rietheim, Aargau
Rietheim is a former municipality in the district of Zurzach in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. On 1 January 2022 the former municipalities of Bad Zurzach, Baldingen, Böbikon, Kaiserstuhl, Rekingen, Rietheim, Rümikon and Wislikofen merged into the new municipality of Zurzach. History Rietheim is first mentioned in 1239 as ''Riethein''. In the 13th Century the noble family of Rietheim is mentioned. The village belonged to the court of Klingnau, which from 1415 until 1798 was under the high court of Baden. The low court right lay with the Bishop of Constance and was exercised by Zurzach Abbey. During the Protestant Reformation the majority of the citizens converted of the new faith. In 1915 the Swiss Sodafabrik (renamed Solvay in 1922) was awarded a concession for the exploitation of salt in the ''Rietheimerfeld''. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A-Welle, more formally known as the Tarifverbund A-Welle or sometimes the Tarifverbund Aargau, is a Swiss tariff network covering the canton of Aargau, with the exception of the districts of Laufenburg and Rheinfelden, together with the eastern part of the canton of Solothurn. The Tarifverbund A-Welle was created on 12 December 2004, when the previous tariff associations for Olten and Aargau merged. Initially the tariff network applied only to season tickets and passes, but it was expanded on 13 December 2009 to include single tickets as well as day and multi-trip tickets. The Aargau S-Bahn (german: S-Bahn Aargau or german: S-Bahnen Aargau) is an S-Bahn-style regional rail network serving the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. History Upon the timetable change on 14 December 2008, an S-Bahn numbering system was introduced for regional rail services in Aargau. The new S-Bahn network was designed to complement the existing adjacent S-Bahn networks in Central Switzerland, Zurich and Basel. With that in mind, the line numbers selected for the new network were in the 20s (except the S14 Menziken–Aarau–Schöftland), so that there would be no conflict with the other networks. The new network was essentially a redesignation of its existing lines. No new stops were built for it, and no new rolling stock was purchased.
