Mohammed Ridha Jalil Mezher Al-Elayawi (born 17 February 2000), simply known as Ridha Jalil, is an Iraqi footballer who most recently played as a midfielder for Sanat Naft Abadan in the Persian Gulf Pro League. International career On 27 November 2019, Ridha won his first international cap for Iraq against Qatar at the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup. Ali Abbas ( ar, علي عباس مشيهد الحلفي , born 30 August 1986) is an Iraqi-Australian footballer who last played for the Newcastle Jets in the A-League and the Iraq national team. Club career In November 2007 Ali Abbas, along with Ali Mansour and Ali Khudhair grabbed global headlines by seeking asylum in Australia after playing against the Olyroos for the Iraqi Under-23 side in an Olympic Games qualifier in Gosford. 2016 AFC U-16 Championship
The 2016 AFC U-16 Championship was the 17th edition of the AFC U-16 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-16 national teams of Asia. The tournament was held in India, as announced by the AFC on 3 June 2015, and was played between 15 September and 2 October 2016. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament. Same as previous editions, the tournament acted as the AFC qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. The top four teams of the tournament qualified for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup also in India as the AFC representatives, besides India who qualified automatically as hosts. The AFC U-17 Asian Cup, formerly known as the AFC U-16 Championship and AFC U-17 Championship, is a football competition, organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) held once every two years for Asian under-17 teams that also serves as a qualification tournament for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. The top 4 countries qualify to participate in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Up to 2000, the tournament was for U-16 teams. Between 2002 and 2006 it was held as an under-17 tournament. 2021 Iraqi Super Cup
The 2021 Iraqi Super Cup was the 10th edition of the Iraqi Super Cup. It was held on 17 September 2021 between the 2020–21 Iraqi Premier League champions and FA Cup winners Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and the league's runners-up Al-Zawraa. This was Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya's sixth Super Cup appearance overall while Al-Zawraa extended their record to eight appearances. The Iraqi Super Cup ( ar, كأس السوبر العراقي), previously called Iraqi Perseverance Cup ( ar, كأس المثابرة العراقي), is Iraqi football's annual match contested between the champions of the previous Iraqi Premier League season and the holders of the Iraq FA Cup. If the Premier League champions also won the FA Cup then the league runners-up provide the opposition. The fixture is a recognised football super cup. 2018–19 Iraq FA Cup
The 2018–19 Iraq FA Cup was the 29th edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup as a clubs-only competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football. A total of 20 teams from the Iraqi Premier League and 25 teams from the Iraq Division One and Iraq Division Two participated. It started on 12 September 2018 and the final was played on 26 July 2019 at the Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. The winners of the competition were Al-Zawraa, who extended their record number of cup wins to 16 with a 1–0 victory over Al-Kahrabaa, thanks to a late goal by Safaa Hadi. Iraq FA Cup
The Iraq FA Cup, known as the Iraq Cup ( ar, كأس العراق) in Arabic, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Iraqi football. First held in the 1948–49 season for clubs and institutions before returning in 1975–76 for clubs only, it is organised by the Iraq Football Association. The tournament begins with several rounds played between lower division clubs, twelve of which advance to the Round of 32, where the Iraqi Premier League clubs are entered. This is followed by the Round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final which is played as a single leg in Baghdad. The winners of the competition are awarded a place in the next season's AFC Cup group stage as well as qualifying for the Iraqi Super Cup where they play against the league champions at the start of the following season (or the league runners-up, if the cup winners have won the double). Al-Zawraa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الزوراء الرياضي) is an Iraqi sports club based in Utayfia, Karkh District (near Tigris River), Baghdad. Their football team compete in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football. Al-Zawraa are the most decorated club in Iraq having won 14 Premier League titles, 16 Iraq FA Cups and 5 Iraqi Super Cups, all national records.
