For a brief time (while construction of the new school was underway), the Elgin Continuation School was used as the building to house the students attending, and by fall of 1961, the school was officially opened. Upper Canada District School Board
The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB), known as English-language Public District School Board No. 26 prior to 1999) is one of the largest public school boards in Ontario in terms of geographical area. It encompasses the counties in the easternmost portion of the province, including the cities of Brockville, Clarence-Rockland, Carleton Place, Cornwall, and Akwesasne. It covers most of the area surrounding - but not including - the city of Ottawa. Trustee elections are held periodically to elect new trustees. The board manages a main office in Brockville and four regional education centres, and offers alternate and continuing education at over 30 locations. Rideau Lakes
Rideau Lakes is a township located within Leeds and Grenville United Counties in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The township was incorporated on 1 January 1998 by amalgamating the former townships of North Crosby, South Crosby, Bastard, South Burgess and South Elmsley with the village of Newboro. Rideau Lakes lies in the northwest corner of Leeds and Grenville, and is geographically the largest municipality in the county. Farming, tourism, and service industries form the backbone of the local economy. The many tourist attractions in Rideau Lakes, including historic trails, the stone arch dam at Jones Falls, and the Rideau Canal, are also an important part of the township's economy.
