Richard Mansell (golfer)
Richard Henry Mansell (born 24 April 1995) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Amateur career Mansell attended Nova Southeastern University from 2014 to 2017, having previously spent one season at Newberry College. Professional career Mansell turned professional in 2017 and began playing on the PGA EuroPro Tour. He claimed his first professional win in July 2019 at the Cobra Puma Championship. He played on the Challenge Tour in 2019 and 2020, finishing fourth on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, gaining status on the European Tour for the 2021 season. The highlight of 2020 being runner-up finishes at the Andalucía Challenge de España and the dual-ranking Euram Bank Open. Mansell qualified for the 2021 Open Championship via final qualifying at Holinwell. In October 2022, Mansell held the 54-hole lead at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Lichfield () is a cathedral city and civil parish in Staffordshire, England. Lichfield is situated roughly south-east of the county town of Stafford, south-east of Rugeley, north-east of Walsall, north-west of Tamworth and south-west of Burton Upon Trent. A nova (plural novae or novas) is a transient astronomical event that causes the sudden appearance of a bright, apparently "new" star (hence the name "nova", which is Latin for "new") that slowly fades over weeks or months. Hero Cup (golf)
The Hero Cup is a golf tournament between teams of professional male golfers; one team representing Great Britain and Ireland, the other team representing Continental Europe. The tournament was first played in 2023, but the competition is reminiscent of the Seve Trophy which was held eight times between 2000 and 2013. A sponsorship deal was reached with the Indian two-wheeler manufacturers Hero MotoCorp. Members of the winning team will each earn US$125,000, with those on the losing team each receiving US$75,000. 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup
The 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup was a team golf competition held from June 9–11, 2017 at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia, United States. The 21st playing of the event, it was the first since the death of namesake Arnold Palmer. The score was level at 5 points each after the first day but the United States team won 9 of the 10 singles matches on the second day and halved the other. This gave them an overwhelming lead, needing just 1 point from 10 singles matches on the final day to win the match. The second set of singles was split 5–5, to give the United States a comfortable 19½–10½ victory in the match. The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The Masters Tournament (usually referred to as simply The Masters, or the U.S. Masters outside North America) is one of the four major championships in professional golf.
