Richard Legendre
Richard Legendre (born January 19, 1953 in Montmagny, Quebec) is a former professional tennis player and politician in Quebec, Canada. Tennis Legendre was born in Montmagny, Quebec. He once represented Canada at the Davis Cup and had a career-high tennis ranking of World No. 232 in singles (December 1978). He played NCAA collegiate tennis at Florida State University in 1972 and 1973. Politics He was the Quebec minister of sports in Bernard Landry's cabinet, after being elected as a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Blainville in 2001. In 2005 he was a candidate in the Parti Québécois's leadership election, a bid notably supported by former Quebec minister François Legault and sprinter and olympic medalist Bruny Surin. Legendre placed third with 7.5% of the vote. Céline Signori (born February 11, 1938) is a Canadian former politician. Signori was a two-term Member of the National Assembly of Quebec. Early life Signori was born in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec in 1938 to Gustave Signori, a local teacher and principal, and Anne-Marie Pelchat. Signori studied nursing at l'École de puériculture de Notre-Dame-de-Liesse, a Church-owned school based at an orphanage in Saint-Laurent, Quebec. She served for fifteen years as a neonatal nurse at hospitals in her hometown of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne in Longueuil, and the hospital in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. Signori made a career change in the early 1980s, becoming a real estate agent with Royal LePage and becoming more involved in women's issues. She served as President of the Federation of Québec Associations of single parents from 1985-1992 and as President of the Fédération des femmes du Québec from 1992-1994. Montreal Impact (1992–2011)
The Montreal Impact (french: Impact de Montréal) was a Canadian professional association football, soccer club based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1993, the team played in the United Soccer League. Later, the Impact played in the North American Soccer League (2011), North American Soccer League (NASL), the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid until the 2011 season. The owner Joey Saputo now operates the Major League Soccer, MLS team CF Montréal, which also carried the Montreal Impact name until 2021. Blainville is a suburb of Montreal located on the North Shore in southwestern Quebec, Canada. Blainville forms part of the Thérèse-De Blainville Regional County Municipality within the Laurentides region of Quebec. The town sits at the foot of the Laurentian Mountains and is located northwest of downtown Montreal. Pierre Gingras (born April 21, 1952) is a politician from Quebec, Canada. He was an Action démocratique du Québec Member of the National Assembly for the electoral district of Blainville from 2007 to 2008. Background From 1993 to 2005, Gingras served as mayor of Blainville and was a councillor from 1989 to 1993 and the leader of the Civil action municipal political party for 14 years. He worked at the Commission scolaire des Mille-Îles for nine, and in the printing industry.
