Richard Chinapoo
Richard Chinapoo (born January 18, 1957) was a Trinidad soccer defender who had an extensive career, primarily in the United States. Chinapoo spent two seasons in the North American Soccer League, eight in the National Professional Soccer League and at least eight in the Major Indoor Soccer League. He also played with the Trinidad and Tobago national team. College Chinapoo first attended college at Trinity College in Trinidad. In 1978, he entered Long Island University in the United States. In addition to his studies, he played on the men’s soccer team from 1978 to 1981, earning second team All-American recognition in 1978, 1979 and 1980. In 1981, he was selected as a first team All-American. He finished his four seasons with the Blackbirds with fifty-five career goals and was inducted into the Long Island, University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001. The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed upon an amateur sports person from the United States who is considered to be one of the best amateurs in their sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport. Some sports will have multiple All-America teams and will list the honorees as members of a first team, second team, or third team. As such, All-America teams are composed of outstanding US amateur players. Individuals falling short of qualifying for the honor may receive All-America honorable mention. 2013–14 Harrisburg Heat Season
The 2013–14 Harrisburg Heat season was the second season of the new Harrisburg Heat indoor soccer club. The Heat, an Eastern Division team in the Professional Arena Soccer League, played their home games in the 2,200 seat Equine Arena at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. After the 2012-13 season, the PASL sold the team to longtime broadcaster John Wilsbach, operating as Heat Soccer Group LLC. The head coach remained Richard Chinapoo, and assistant coach Gino DiFlorio. Season summary The Heat started the season with an overtime victory over the Detroit Waza then lost 7 of their next 9 matches, including all 4 of their scheduled games against the expansion Cleveland Freeze.
