Richard Carlsohn
Richard Carlsohn (bord 29 January 1965 in Tranås, Sweden) is a Swedish actor and singer. His breakthrough was performing in the musical ''Cabaret'' at Oscarsteatern in 1989. Since then he has played many roles in musicals, including ''Les Misérables'' and ''The Phantom of the Opera''. He has won the Swedish theatre award, Guldmasken several times, and has been a recording artist in his own right. In 1993, Carlsohn entered Melodifestivalen with the song "Ge mig din hand", written by Martin Klaman and Hasse Skoog, where it shared 6th (last) place. He now lives in Norrköping, Sweden, performing at Östgötateatern. His roles include Sir Percy Blakeney in ''The Scarlet Pimpernel'', which was critically acclaimed, and Mercutio in ''Romeo and Juliet''. The Swedish Film Institute ( sv, Svenska Filminstitutet) was founded in 1963 to support and develop the Swedish film industry. The institute is housed in the ''Filmhuset'' building located in Gärdet, Östermalm in Stockholm. The building, completed in 1970, was designed by architect Peter Celsing. Oscarsteatern ( English: Oscar Theatre), also known simply as Oscars, is one of Stockholm's private theatres and is the best-known musical theatre in Sweden. It is located at Kungsgatan 63 in central Stockholm. History The theater was designed in Art Nouveau by architect Axel Anderberg (1860–1937) and was inaugurated on December 6, 1906. It was named after King Oscar II. The salon accommodated 1175 seats and was decorated with white stucco and gilded ornaments.
