Riccardo Ajmone-Marsan
Riccardo Ajmone-Marsan (1889-1958) was an Italian footballer who played for Juventus. Biography Riccardo Ajmone-Marsan was introduced - together with the brothers Alessandro and Annibale - to the team of the White-Blacks by Umberto Malvano, one of the founders of Juventus F.C. Riccardo, Alessandro and Annibale convinced their father Marco to pay the rent of the Velodrome Umberto I. In 1921 Riccardo married Adelina Lavini (1901-1990), by whom he had three children: Maria (1922-1922), Giuliana (1923-2017) and Giorgio (1926-2008). He was also known as Ajmone I, to distinguish him from his two brothers and teammates Alessandro and Annibale. Marco Ajmone-Marsan (1859–1918 in Turin) was an Italian businessman. Biography He was born in Crosa but moved at an early age to Turin, where he started his business at age 18 opening a small shirts warehouse. Later, his company – specialized in the production of handkerchiefs – grew rapidly, counting more than 200 weaving looms. His business activity was successful to such a great extent that it was even able to beat the competition of British manufacturing enterprises in a quite short time. He married Maria Aimone, by whom he had three children: Riccardo, Alessandro and Annibale. Velodromo Umberto I
Velodrome Humbert I, commonly known in Italian as ''Velodromo Umberto I'', was an early cycling velodrome and, from 1898, a football ground in Turin. The velodrome was named in honour of then King Humbert I of Savoy. During its time in use it was used by several clubs, it was located within the La Crocetta neighbourhood of Turin, within the Corso Re Umberto park near Mauriziano hospital. The velodrome is noted for been the host of the first ever Italian Football Championship in 1898. As thus, the first ever Italian Championship game was played there on the 8 May 1898 between Internazionale Torino and FBC Torinese. It ended 1-0 to Internazionale, but Genoa won the competition overall. Its first permanent footballing tenants were FBC Torinese who used it from April 1900 until 1904. Umberto Malvano (17 July 1884 – 15 September 1971) was an early Italian football player from Turin. He was one of the thirteen men who founded Juventus F.C., Juventus in 1897. After several years of playing as a Striker (association football), striker for Juventus, he moved to rivals A.C. Milan and won the 1906 Italian Football Championship with the latter club. Giuseppe Lavini (27 April 1857 - 3 March 1928) was an Italian painter and art critic. He was born in the Piedmont, and a resident of Turin. He exhibited at Venice ''Portico in Liguria'', and ''Studiosa''. He excelled in seascapes and landscapes including ''Un rio a Venezia''; ''Sul Po; Canal Grande'', which were exhibited at Milan and Turin. In 1880 in Turin, he exhibited a genre painting titled: ''Le visite della padroncino''; in Rome, in 1883, and Turin in 1884, he displayed a figure painting and a portrait. He had studied law, was knighted, and became secretary of the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts of Turin. He was also an art critic for the ''Gazzeta Piemontese''.
