Ricardo Arellano
Ricardo Arellano Nieves (born May 5, 1976 in Aguascalientes City) is a Mexican football referee who became professional in 2003. His debut at the Primera Division de Mexico was in 2007. He won the "Balon de Oro" in Mexico and got his distinction as an international referee in 2010 (Mexican FIFA Referees). Up to now, Arellano Nieves has officiated more than 130 matches as a central referee in the Primera Division de Mexico, including play-offs. In the Liga de Ascenso, Ricardo completed around 56 matches. As international referee, Ricardo Arellano has participated in the 2012 Toulon Tournament officiating three matches, including the third place play-off between France and Netherlands. He received satisfactory comments regarding his participation and was pre-selected for the final match, in which he could not participate because the Mexico was involved in it. Aguascalientes
Aguascalientes (; ), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Aguascalientes ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Aguascalientes), is one of the 32 states which comprise the Political divisions of Mexico, Federal Entities of Mexico. In association football, the referee is the person responsible for interpreting and enforcing the Laws of the Game during a match. 2011 Pan American Games
The 2011 Pan American Games, officially the XVI Pan American Games, was an international multi-sport event that was held from October 14–30, 2011, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Some events were held in the nearby cities of Ciudad Guzmán, Puerto Vallarta, Lagos de Moreno and Tapalpa. It was the largest multi-sport event of 2011, with approximately 6,000 athletes from 42 nations participating in 36 sports. The 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the fourteenth tournament of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, and the eleventh played since the change in age limits from under 16s to Under 17s in 1991. It was held in Mexico with games being played amongst various venues between 18 June and 10 July 2011. CONCACAF Champions League
The CONCACAF Champions League, known officially as the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons, is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONCACAF. The tournament is contested by clubs from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The winner of the CONCACAF Champions League automatically qualifies for the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup. The tournament currently uses a knockout format; it had a group stage prior to the 2018 competition. The SuperLiga was an official North American association football competition between teams from the Liga MX of Mexico and Major League Soccer of the United States and Canada, the top divisions in each country. The competition was sanctioned by CONCACAF, U.S. Soccer, the Canadian Soccer Association and Federación Mexicana de Fútbol and served as the sub-regional championship for the North American section of CONCACAF, much like its Central American and Caribbean counterparts, the Copa Interclubes UNCAF and CFU Club Championship respectively.
