Ri Sol-ju (April 27, 2018)
Ri Sol-ju (; born 1985–1989) is the current First Lady of North Korea as the wife of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. Little is known about her from official North Korean sources, but outside sources have speculated more about her background. While she has made many public appearances with her husband, she has also spent long periods out of the public eye. In April 2018, state media had announced that her new title had been elevated from merely "Comrade" () to "Respected First Lady" ()considered a significant honor and the first time the title has been used since 1974. The first lady of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (), more commonly known as the first lady of North Korea, is the title given to the wife of the supreme leader of North Korea. However, only two wives of the supreme leader have received this title: the inaugural holder Kim Song-ae, the second wife of Kim Il-sung; and the incumbent Ri Sol-ju, the wife of Kim Jong-un. History During the administration of President Kim Il-sung, Kim Song-ae assumed the duties of first lady in 1963, 11 years after the marriage. The position was left vacant under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong-il, who married twice and had three domestic partnerships at different times. Unhasu Orchestra
The Unhasu (Milky Way) Orchestra () was a musical group based in Pyongyang, North Korea. It performs primarily with Western instruments, sometimes performing alongside traditional Korean soloists. The orchestra has a concert hall, the ''Unhasu Theater'' in Pyongyang, dedicated for its use. Ri Sol-ju, the wife of Kim Jong-un, was a singer in this group. According to ex-North Korean senior government official Thae Yong-ho, the orchestra was disbanded on the 12th August 2013. Kenji Fujimoto
is the pen name of a Japanese chef who was the personal sushi chef of former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il from 1988 to 2001. Fujimoto published a memoir in 2003 entitled ''I was Kim Jong-il's Cook'', detailing many of his experiences with Kim Jong-il. The veracity of his claims were initially doubted by skeptics. However, Fujimoto correctly predicted that Kim Jong-un (who was relatively unknown at that time) would be appointed as his father's successor as Supreme Leader instead of Kim Jong-nam or Kim Jong-chul, which was contrary to the prevailing consensus of experts on North Korean politics. Hyon Song-wol
Hyon Song-wol (; born 1977) is a North Korean singer, band leader, and politician. She is the leader of the Moranbong Band and of the Samjiyon Orchestra. She was formerly a featured vocalist for the Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble in the early 2000s, a pop group which found fame in North Korea in the late 1980s and 1990s. She has been a member in the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea since 2017. Early career Hyon was a vocalist for the Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble. Her biggest hit was the song "A Girl on a Steed", a 2005 song extolling the virtues of a Stakhanovite textile factory worker.
