Rhett Bernstein
Rhett Anthony Bernstein (born September 10, 1987) is an American former soccer player. In 2009, he won the Hermann Trophy. He played for Sevilla FC Puerto Rico, Mjøndalen, and Miami FC. Early and personal life Bernstein was born in San Diego, California, and is Jewish. As a teenager, he played soccer for the La Jolla Nomads. He attended University City High School in San Diego. Club career While playing soccer at Brown University, Bernstein was named to the 2008 '' Jewish Sports Review'' All-America First-Team, along with Zac MacMath and Daniel Steres. He was nominated twice for the Hermann Trophy, given to the best male college soccer player in America. In 2009, he won the Hermann Trophy. He played for Team USA at the 2009 Maccabiah Games in Israel. The team finished fifth in the Games. Eliteserien () is a Norwegian professional league for association football clubs. At the top of the Norwegian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Norwegian First Division. The 2015 Tippeligaen was the 71st completed season of top-tier football in Norway. The competition began on 6 April 2015, one week later than in the previous season. A short summer-break in June was scheduled between the rounds played on 12 July and 26 July, and the decisive match was played on 8 November 2015. Molde were the defending champions. Sandefjord, Tromsø and Mjøndalen joined as the promoted clubs from the 2014 1. divisjon. They replaced Brann, Sogndal and Sandnes Ulf who were relegated to the 2015 1. divisjon. The 2014 1. divisjon was a Norwegian second-tier football league season. The league was contested by 16 teams, and the top two teams won promotion to Tippeligaen, while the teams placed from third to sixth place played a promotion-playoff against the 14th-placed team in Tippeligaen to win promotion. The bottom four teams were relegated to the 2. divisjon. The first round of the season was played on 6 April 2014 and ended with the last round on 2 November 2014. The Norwegian First Division, also called 1. divisjon and OBOS-ligaen (named sponsor is property developer OBOS), is the second-highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Each year, the top finishing teams in the 1. divisjon are promoted to the Eliteserien, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to 2. divisjon. 1. divisjon was previously known as 2. divisjon (1963–1990) and replaced regional league Landsdelsserien (1951–1962) after the latter was dissolved after the 1961–62 season. The 2011 1. divisjon (referred to as Adeccoligaen for sponsorship reasons) was a Norwegian second-tier football season. The season began play on 3 April 2011 and ended on 30 October 2011. The clubs relegated from the 2010 Tippeligaen were Hønefoss (after relegation play-offs), Kongsvinger and Sandefjord. Asker, HamKam, Hødd, and Randaberg were promoted from the 2010 2. divisjon. Following an extended period of financial distress, Lyn withdrew from the league in 2010. Follo did not finish their licensing application for the 2011 season before the time limit of 15 September 2010, and were thus relegated at the end of the 2010 season even though they finished 12th, outside of the relegation zone.
