Rhea Fain
Rhea Fain was a NASCAR Busch Series team owner. A controversial figure in the sport, he was well regarded by racers, and many of his team efforts failed to last for more than a handful of races. Involvement with Morgan Shepherd In May 1999, Fain partnered with Morgan Shepherd to field the No. 05 Wendy's Pontiac. The team failed to qualify for the Coca-Cola 600 and the partnership dissolved. The NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) is a stock car racing series organized by NASCAR. It is promoted as NASCAR's second-tier circuit to the organization's top level Cup Series. Morgan Shepherd
Clay Morgan Shepherd (born October 12, 1941) is an American retired professional stock car racing driver and current team owner. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 89 Chevrolet Camaro for Shepherd Racing Ventures. He is a born again Christian who serves as a lay minister to the racing community. He competed in NASCAR for over 50 years, having one of the longest careers in the sport. Shepherd became the second-oldest race winner (after Harry Gant) in 1993, when he won the spring race at Atlanta at the age of 51 years, 4 months, and 27 days. 1999 Coca-Cola 600
The 1999 Coca-Cola 600, the 40th running of the event, was a NASCAR Winston Cup Series race held on May 30, 1999 at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. Contested at 400 laps on the 1.5 mile (2.4 km) speedway, it was the twelfth race of the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season. The race was won by Jeff Burton, driving the #99 Exide Batteries Ford Taurus for Roush Racing. It was his third victory of six he recorded during the 1999 season and his first of two wins in the Coca-Cola 600 (he later won the event in 2001). He also won a $1 million bonus from Winston as part of their No Bull 5 competition. There were two other noteworthy stories from the race, both involving rookie drivers. Conrad Burr
Conrad Burr (born November 23, 1968) is an American former stock car racing driver. He competed part-time in the Craftsman Truck Series from 2000 to 2003. Burr also drove numerous races in the NASCAR Southeast Series, particularly in the mid and late 1990s, where he ran nearly full seasons and picked up one win in 1999. Racing career Burr made his debut in 2000, when he drove the Jim Rosenblum Racing No. 28 Chevy into the field at Martinsville. He started the event in 31st, but only managed 25th. Yet, he did finish the event, a tall task at the short track. Burr made another solo start in 2001, driving for his own team at Nashville. He started the event in last (36th) and only made it up to 34th before retiring early. Burr returned to Rosenblum's team in 2002 for a five race schedule. Kim Crosby (born December 8, 1964) is an American stock car racing driver, professional driving instructor, and monster truck driver. She is a former competitor in the NASCAR Busch Series and the ARCA Re/Max Series. Career Before she became a NASCAR driver, she served as a middle school principal in Slidell, Louisiana, resigning in December 2004 to focus full-time on her racing career. Kim has a master's degree in Educational Administration. Crosby originally was a drag racer, competing in the NHRA and IHRA for fifteen years. Boudreaux's Butt Paste
Boudreaux's Butt Paste is an American brand of skin cream that started out as a remedy for diaper rash. It has also been used for the treatment of various skin ailments including psoriasis, jock itch, shingles, chafing, cold sores and acne. Background The product was created in the 1970s by George Boudreaux of Covington, Louisiana, while he was working as an intern pharmacist. He continued to work on the formula after becoming a licensed pharmacist and sold it at his pharmacy, later naming it "Boudreaux's Butt Paste" after a physician told him a story about a patient who had referred to the product as such. Boudreaux began distributing the product more extensively after he sold his pharmacy in 1974. Manufacturing moved from Alabama to New Orleans in 2004. Pontiac or formally the Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors, was an American automobile brand owned, manufactured, and commercialized by General Motors. Speedweeks
Daytona Speedweeks presented by AdventHealth is a series of racing events that take place during January and February at Daytona International Speedway. Traditionally leading up to the Daytona 500, in 2021 it concluded with the Daytona road course race. Nearby tracks New Smyrna Speedway and Volusia County Speedway also run special events during the period. There is also a Monster Jam event held at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic Monster Energy Supercross raced at Camping World Stadium in Orlando which is about an hour South of the speedway. The races took place on February 13th and 20th which was the same day as both NASCAR Xfinity Series races at the speedway.
