Gottfried Kolditz
Gottfried Kolditz (14 December 1922 – 15 June 1982) was a German movie actor and director. Biography Kolditz was born in Goldbach-Altenbach to a farm family. Between 1945 and 1949 he studied German philology at the University of Leipzig, and took a course of direction and acting in 1947–1949 at the Leipzig Higher School of Music and Drama. In the early 1950s he worked as an actor and director at various theaters in East Germany. After 1955 he worked at DEFA, the East German film studio, in a wide range of genres: fairy tales ("Ms. Blizzard," from the story of the same name by the Brothers Grimm), adventure films, musicals, and science fiction ("Signals" and "B dust of stars" on themes similar to ''2001: A Space Odyssey''). He wrote scripts both for himself and for other directors. He was widely acclaimed for his Red Westerns with actor Gojko Mitić: "Next Falcon", "Apache" and "Ulzana." East Germany

Musical Film
Musical film is a film genre in which songs by the characters are interwoven into the narrative, sometimes accompanied by dancing. The songs usually advance the plot or develop the film's characters, but in some cases, they serve merely as breaks in the storyline, often as elaborate "production numbers". Christel Bodenstein
Christel Bodenstein (born 13 October 1938) is a German film and television actress. She appeared in many East German (GDR) productions and is best known outside Germany for her leading role as the young princess in ''The Singing Ringing Tree'' (1957). Biography In 1949 she moved to Leipzig in the GDR with her mother. She attended the ballet school of the Leipzig Opera and the State Ballet School, Berlin and became a ballet dancer. She met the film director Kurt Maetzig who suggested she study acting and screen test for a film, she then studied acting at the Academy of Film and Television in Potsdam. She was married from 1960 to 1978 to the director Konrad Wolf and they had a son Mirko in 1961. Her second marriage is to the actor and playwright Hasso von Lenski. Manfred Krug
Manfred Krug (; 8 February 1937 – 21 October 2016) was a German actor, singer and author. Life and work Born in Duisburg, Krug moved to East Germany at the age of 13, and worked at a steel plant before beginning his acting career on the stage and, ultimately, in film. By the end of the 1950s he had several film roles, and in 1960 he appeared in Frank Beyer's successful war movie ''Fünf Patronenhülsen'' (''Five Cartridges''). Many more film roles followed, with Krug often cast as a socialist hero. Krug also achieved notability as a popular jazz singer, often in collaboration with composer Günther Fischer. In 1976 the East German government (GDR) forbade Krug to work as an actor and singer because he participated in protests against the expulsion and stripping of GDR citizenship of Wolf Biermann. East German Films
This is a list, in year order, of the most notable films produced in the Soviet Occupation Zone of Germany and the socialist German Democratic Republic (GDR, East Germany) from 1945 until German Reunification in October 1990. The state owned East German film company DEFA produced about 800 feature films between 1946 and 1992. Besides DEFA, the state broadcaster DFF and the Deutsche Hochschule für Filmkunst (now the Filmuniversität Babelsberg) were the only other organizations in the GDR that produced feature films for cinematic release, although far fewer than DEFA. DEFA also produced about 750 animated movies and more than 2500 documentaries and short films.
