Revision3 was a San Francisco, California, San Francisco-based Multi-channel network, multi-channel television network that created, produced and distributed streaming television shows on niche topics. Founded in 2005, it operated as a subsidiary of Discovery Digital Networks since 2012. The network produced technology and gaming oriented programming in tandem with traditional comedic, political, DIY, and movie-related content. On March 31, 2017, Discovery Communications closed the website. History The company was founded in Los Angeles, California, by Jay Adelson, Kevin Rose and David Prager in April 2005. Kevin Rose is an American Internet entrepreneur who co-founded Revision3, Digg, Pownce, and Milk. He also served as production assistant and co-host at TechTV's ''The Screen Savers''. From 2012 to 2015, he was a venture partner at GV. Early life and education Rose was born in California and lived in Oregon before his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he spent most of his childhood. He became an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Rose transferred to Southeast Career Technical Academy for high school (formerly known as Vo-Tech High School) in Las Vegas in 1992. He then attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas, majored in computer science but dropped out in 1998. Career Rose worked for two dot-com startups through CMGI. Roger Chang is a computer enthusiast and American television personality best known for his time as a segment producer and his appearances on TechTV's ''Call for Help'' and ''The Screen Savers''. He was a senior producer at Revision3. Early life Chang attended Thomas Downey High School in Modesto, California. Upon graduating from high school, Chang continued his education at San Francisco State University. He has had numerous jobs in media companies involved in technology, most notably with TechTV and editor-in-chief of '' PC Magazine''. ''Diggnation'' was a weekly humor video podcast hosted by Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht. Broadcast on Revision3, the first episode aired on July 1, 2005 and the last episode on December 30, 2011. Producer David Prager suggested naming the ''Digg'' website "''Diggnation''". Rose decided on the simpler ''Digg'' for the website and ''Diggnation'' for the podcast. ''Diggnation'' usually starts with Rose and Albrecht reviewing beverages. These include beer, tea, coffee, and hard liquors such vodka or whisky. The hosts continue consuming the beverages for the rest of the show. Rose and Albrecht then discuss Digg stories from the previous week, with off-topic banter with each other and with Prager and camera operator Glenn McElhose.
