Return To Dark Tower
''Return to Dark Tower'' is a board game for one to four players, designed and published by Restoration Games. The game is a sequel to the 1981 board game ''Dark Tower'', by Milton Bradley Company. ''Return to Dark Tower'' has players cooperate or compete as they rule over kingdoms surrounding the titular Tower, with their chosen "heroes" gathering resources, defeating monsters and enhancing their strength. As the game progresses, the Tower dispenses corruption across the land, which players must cleanse, while also looking to identify the foe inhabiting the Tower, so that they may defeat it, to win the game. Rob Daviau
Rob Daviau is an American game designer known for creating legacy board gaming. Career He has guest lectured at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University, and New York University on game design and has been a visiting professor of game design at Hampshire College. In 1998, Daviau joined Hasbro as a writer for text-heavy games like Trivial Pursuit and Taboo. Daviau is a co-founder of Restoration Games which "specializes in resurrecting older games and giving them new life". ''Beasts of Balance'' is a dexterity tabletop game which is played alongside a companion app for iOS and Android. The game was developed by Sensible Object and released in November 2016, its soundtrack was composed by Disasterpeace. Originally titled ''Fabulous Beasts'', the game had to be renamed following a trademark dispute with Warner Bros. over their ''Fantastic Beasts'' film. Gameplay The game can be played solo, or co-operatively by up to 4 players. The aim of the game is to stack animal-shaped objects onto a plinth in order to build a tower. Each object is RFID tagged; these tags are read by the plinth, and communicated to the companion app via Bluetooth, allowing the app to keep score and set challenges. When the tower topples, a countdown begins, and if the players fail to re-create the tower before the timer runs out, the game ends.
