Renée of France (25 October 1510 – 12 June 1574), was List of Ferrarese consorts, Duchess of Ferrara from 31 October 1534 until 3 October 1559 by marriage to Ercole II d'Este, grandson of Pope Alexander VI. Renée Adorée (; born Jeanne de la Fonte ; 30 September 1898 – 5 October 1933) was a French stage and film actress who appeared in Hollywood silent movies during the 1920s. She is best known for portraying the role of Melisande, the love interest of John Gilbert in the melodramatic romance and war epic '' The Big Parade''. Adorée‘s career was cut short after she contracted tuberculosis in 1930. She died of the disease in 1933 at the age of 35. Dorothy Renée Ascherson (19 May 1915 – 30 October 2014), known professionally as Renée Asherson, was a British actress. Much of her theatrical career was spent in Shakespearean plays, appearing at such venues as the Old Vic, the Liverpool Playhouse, and the Westminster Theatre. Her first stage appearance was on 17 October 1935, aged 20, and her first major film appearance was in ''The Way Ahead'' (1944). Her last film appearance was in '' The Others'' (2001). Renée Pietrafesa Bonnet (17 December 1938 – 3 February 2022) was a French and Uruguayan composer, pianist, organist, harpsichordist and conductor. Her compositions spanned both popular and classical genres which included Electroacoustic music. Life and career Born in 1938 in Montevideo, Uruguay, Pietrafesa began her musical studies with her mother, pianist and pedagogue Renée Bonnet. She attended courses taught by Jörg Demus and Héctor Tosar, developing her skills as both a composer and a performer. She founded the ''Chorale de l'Alliance Française'' and the ''Montevideo Ars musicæ Chamber Orchestra'' which tours in Uruguay and the whole of Latin America and organized the 1st Montevideo Open Air Chamber Music Festival. Renée of Bourbon, Duchess of Lorraine (1494 – 26 May 1539), also called Renée, Lady of Mercœur, was a Duchess consort of Lorraine. She was a daughter of Gilbert de Bourbon, Count of Montpensier by Clara Gonzaga, and sister of Charles de Bourbon, Duke of Bourbon. Renée and Renato were a female/male vocal duo, who had a UK number-one hit in December 1982 with " Save Your Love". The follow-up single " Just One More Kiss" peaked at No. 48. Their third single, "Jesus Loves Us All", failed to reach the UK Singles Chart. West Midlands-resident Italian-born Renato Pagliari auditioned for ITV's talent show ''New Faces'' in 1975, catching the attention of songwriter, Johnny Edward, who had written "Save Your Love". He was teamed by Edward with British singer Hilary Lester and the duo was renamed Renée and Renato. Renée Bordereau (1770 in Soulaines-sur-Aubance – 1822 in Vezins, Maine-et-Loire), nicknamed ''The Angevin'', was a French soldier. She followed her father, disguised herself as a man, and fought as a Royalist cavalier in the troops of Charles Melchior Artus de Bonchamps during the Vendéan insurrection against the French Revolution, and took part in all battles of the war. Renée Carl (10 June 1875 – 31 July 1954) was a French actress of the silent era. She was born in Fontenay-le-Comte, Vendée, France, and died in Paris, France. Between 1907 and 1937, she appeared in 186 films. A favorite of film director Louis Feuillade, she appeared in at least 150 films directed by him, including the short ''Bébé'' and '' Bout de Zan'' comedies.
