Renkum (village)
Renkum is the name of a village in the municipality of Renkum. In the early days, the name of the village was written as ''Redinchem''. In the 19th century, Renkum developed itself. There existed six paper mills, three water-cornmills and one water-oil mill. There were two factories, a treacle factory and a Potato flour, potato starch-flour factory. Arnold (Nol) Hendriks (15 May 1937 – 21 October 2017) was a Dutch businessman and football executive. Business career Born in Renkum, he moved to Limburg with his parents when his father started working in the mines in Heerlen. He later worked in the mines himself and as a grocer and dry-cleaner, before becoming a self-made millionaire in the textile business. Roda JC Hendriks got involved in the Roda JC football club in the early 1980s. He started backing the club financially and became a technical director as well as a member of Roda's supervisory board. He even scouted players himself and his financial injections made Roda JC one of the leading clubs in Holland behind the country's traditional big three, culminating in finishing second to then Champions League holders Ajax in the 1994–95 Eredivisie season and winning the KNVB Cup twice. Derk Bolt (born 24 May 1955) is a Dutch television presenter, editor and producer. He was born in Renkum (village), Renkum. After studying journalism (a program which he did not finish) in Utrecht, Bolt started his career at the late night actualities daily radio show ''Met het Oog op Morgen'' and as editor at the ''Alles is Anders Show'' (KRO). After that he was, among others, reporter at the actualities television show ''Brandpunt (televisieprogramma), Brandpunt'' (English: "Focus"). The Battle of Arnhem was a battle of the Second World War at the vanguard of the Allied Operation Market Garden. It was fought in and around the Dutch city of Arnhem, the town of Oosterbeek, the villages Wolfheze and Driel and the vicinity from 17 to 26 September 1944.
